Knoxville Restaurants

I would also mention Chez Liberty. Wife and I went about a year ago and had an amazing meal/experience

just saying that if you can honestly go eat at CC on the strip and say "no different than Friday's" I'm not sure what else to call it

Chez Liberty is what I would consider to be the single most magnificent restaurant in Knoxville. Truly the best overall food/drink menu in town.

I don't think calling Copper Cellar on the strip TGI Fridays is a perfect comparison, but I've seen worse. It has a fern bar decor and basically stole the Ruby Tuesday chain's drink menu. It's certainly the closest thing we have to a TGI Fridays on the strip.

---

DTGB is the first place I bring any out-of-town visitor. Next, I think they have to visit Chez Liberty or maybe Echo/Seasons out west so that they get a change of scenery and a different style of restaurant. As for the challenge, I don't know of too many places in Knoxville that have crazy food challenges... except Latitude 35. Unfortunately, their challenge isn't so much "eat this ridiculous amount of food really fast" as it is "eat this DISGUSTING ABOMINATION in 35 minutes or it's $35!"

What do you guys think is the best mexican food place? My favorite right now is Poncho's, but my wife and i live in Oak Ridge now.

If that's the same Poncho's that's way out on Chapman near Johnson Bible College then yes it's the best Mexican in Knoxville IMO. La Parilla being a close second.

I think people have a difficult time separating Copper Cellar from the Cumberland Grill

People do that all the time. Not nearly the same.

Copper Cellar is Cumberland Grill. No one confuses the two, but I also know very few people who actually try to call the upstairs at Copper Cellar "Cumberland Grill" as opposed to the downstairs "downstairs at Copper Cellar."

I'm just sayin'...I think the entire issue with the back-and-forth earlier in this thread was because someone said Copper Cellar and someone else thought Cumberland Grill

I didn't like it. I went on my birthday two years ago. The pulled pork was dried out, and the fries were a disappointment.

The best BBQ in town is Bread of Heaven. If you disagree, you haven't had it. They have a lunch buffet that will make you want to slap your momma.

I have had Bread of Heaven. The food is fantastic, it is one of my guilty pleasures. The chicken is slap yo mama good. Also McKinny played for the Niners. Extra win

Poncho's has two locations, but yes. I love that place. My dad's cooworker is from Mexico, and his wife cooked the same food.

La Parilla in Turkey Creek. Always full of hispanics, the official seal of approval imo.

Alcoa. It's in the "downtown" area. And the lunch buffet is around $10.

$10 does feel steep for lunch, but it's just so good. The BBQ is so moist and the fried chicken is awesome. Even the fries are unreal. My only beef is that the banana pudding is subpar. That's it!

Never been a banana pudding fan. Everything in the line is good, the grilled chicken is unbelievable

It's been a toss up between Don Gallo and Pelancho's when it comes to mexican in my family. Although I've eaten at Abuelo's a few times it's never been a fave and is overpriced. I'll have to try La Parilla.
