Blackman vs maryville was the real state championship. Atleast it was the two best teams that just met too early.

Fulton scored 856 points this year. Good for the State record and 4th All time nationally!

4A teams will probably get a reprieve from FHS next year, because they lose such great talent, but in two years FHS will have two great rb's in Kintel Williams and Tate and they could make some more noise. Maryville will probably just reload.

Don't count them out next year. They have some good players coming back but they will not be as good as this year. Have to wait and see.

That record might stand for awhile. Greeneville had the old record of 748 in 2010 and Fulton shattered that record by over 100 points. Had Rollins not gotten hurt, they might have hit 900.

I felt bad for the kid tonight. He earned the right to play and gave it a go. He had a good 4 years at Fulton.

They may have broken the record. The record is 903 and that team did it in 16 games. Rollins-Davis missed the last 3 games. Fulton only needed like 42 more points.

They might have because Rollins was good for two touchdowns per game, independant of what others scored, so it is possible they could have had the record in only 15 games.

Great team and a great year. A lot of the younger players got a lot of playing time this year. They won't be as explosive as this year but I do think they will be pretty good. Can't wait till next year.

I posted this here last year, 12/01/12, after the 2012 playoffs,

Fulton should be even tougher next year.

It was easy to see then that FHS would repeat in 2013. In 2012 they broke their old record for points scored, which they broke again this year, as mentioned, not to mention all the talent they had coming back, which most area coaches realized, and as a result wouldn't even scrimmage them this year, because of fear of embarrassment. To George Quarles credit, he did scrimmage Ensworth and apparently Ensworth put it to Maryville, but no other area coaches seemed to want to be scrimmage guinea pigs for FHS. FHS, I would think, might be affected more next season by talent loss because, I assume, their schedule will be tougher by virtue of the larger schools they are playing. FHS did label their second team as 1A because some of the players were very close in talent to the first-team players, but lacked experience, according to FHS's radio broadcaster. 2014 will be interesting at FHS and also at Maryville, to see what "houdini G.Q" comes up with.
