Here's my take on Geathers...

He either:

1.) Isn't intelligent enough to realize the offer came from UGA in order to keep him from us

2.) Doesn't have enough self respect to have a problem with UGA offering to keep him from us

or

3.) Used a visit with us to leverage the offer he wanted from UGA

I'm going to give the kid credit that he may not deserve and go with 3

He was originally slated for an official on one of the weekends prior to NDS and ended up not coming. I think you're theory #3 might be dead on. So he wasn't going to get an offer from GA and decided to wait it out until a spot opened up.

Kind of lame to see so many posts that bash recruits as soon as they decide to go elsewhere. Would have been nice to have him sign with us but now onto Brown, Charles, and Oku.

I say good luck to Kwame and UGA and let's all move on. If we don't pick up anymore players in this class then that is fine with me, out time will come soon enough.

I do not think anybody has bashed KG at all. VolinChattanooga is a different story. This was expected and we will take a swipe at him next year. Figured he was GA or USCe because of family.

No, anyone pissed at KG is going overboard. He's making whatever decision he thinks is best, but we ended up with a good class and still in the running for a couple of top tier guys that would be some serious icing. The rampant moronic "all Vol" stuff is definitely a different story.

Not trying to be thread specific. Just too much sour grapes when we lose recruits in general (imo).

The old c'mon recruit please come here!!!, followed by good luck he isn't a good player anyway mentality seen from time to time is what is lame.

Not trying to take shots at anyone in particular.

I tip my hat to KG, he played the game and ended up with a scholly to the school he wanted from the beginning.

I kept thinking it was either my #1 or #2 theory..but then it hit me that:

1.) Surely someone is his support group is smart enough to clue him in if he isn't aware of #1

and

2.) In this day and age, any legit D1 recruit is going to be way too arrogant to stand for #2

So that led me to #3 and I truly believe that's what happened...

My hat is off to him though....he played this situation exactly like he had to and got exactly what he wanted
