That term itself - "negative recruiting" is just kind of unnecessary. "Negative recruiting" is recruiting. You're trying to make your program look better relative to other programs.

Lol, we don’t have to negative recruit against UK. They have beaten us 4 times since 1980....4! We just came out one of the worst decades in our history, and the last couple years have been some of their best, and we still beat them 80% of the time.
