Pretty good stuff here.

Fans were begging Kentucky to get a stop in the second half. Tennessee just wouldn't miss. Hit a three to cut it to 9 and the momentum would've shifted. The lid was ready to blow up until about 4 minutes left.Just sad, Man

I agree but honestly Pope didn't motivate his team to defend like Barnes did his. That's just the truth. Barnes also outcoached Cal repeatedly so it's nothing new. But we had never played our hated rival in the tournament. And defense is easier to play on adrenaline than precise things like shooting. Tennessee came ready to play balls to the wall and we didn't. I was really disappointed in Pope and the boys in the first half. They played even in the second half but it was too late.

Our team seemed completely shocked by Tennessee's superior intensity. And I was very disappointed by that.

All I know is I don’t want to hear about our fans having a huge advantage anymore. It doesn’t matter, Kentucky loses everytime they have the fan advantage at neutral sites now

That’s all you know? Once again your username makes no sense. All you do is worry about things. And post inaccurate crap like this. (Username was dontworryaboutit123)

I know we as Cat Nation pride ourselves as a team of March, a team of banners that are national champions not just conference/tourney banners that lesser SEC schools (looking at you Vawls) hang their hat on.

But at what point are we going to look ourselves in the mirror and come to grips that Cal had a run but the SEC we feasted on for decades was a 3 bid league and we’ll never be “the CATS” we built our reputation on?

Best run since Covid and the conference puts us back in our current place.

We laid a foundation for the future this year. Cal tried to tank this program and make it all about nba. I’d bet a mortgage We make an E8 or beyond next year.

Sound like a UT homer to me 🤔 and it really counts in the Elite Eight. Because it don’t mean sh*t unless you’re making a final four. And those poor bastards are 100 years behind..

We had the Cal Sunshine Pumpers and now we are starting to see the Pope White Smoke Pumpers.

In fandom realms the two comments below could simply get lost in the shuffle so I’m glad you included them. There has been a titanic shift in basketball power. The SEC has invested and it’s now a hoops beast. The Kensucks can’t simply rely on a stable of decent but not great opposition that helps them build confidence and prepare for March. The first one is a very savvy and troubling realization in Lexington for anyone willing to open their mind. And it’s probably never going to be the same for them as it once was.

This guy gets it. Kentucky is not returning to what they were, with the transfer portal in its current state you will likely never see one dominant team again. Kentucky has consistently produced one and done NBA stars under Cal but that formula won’t work anymore in the new era. Who knows how Pope’s approach will be but things seem to currently indicate the portal is the recipe for college success.

Hell, they ran off Cal to a team with ZERO players and he made it as far with that team as Kentucky did. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Kentucky had the most success in the tournament in years with a mostly transfer roster.

Things are different now and the sooner they realize that, the better it will be for them. I do enjoy their misery though.

Many of them are SEC homers, so I'd expect there will be a lot cheering for us, but I kinda hope they don't. I get up in the morning for the hatred.
Oh they ain't. Go read the threads, they want us to lose. I'm telling you they presently hate us more than probably anyone.
They even said they would be fine with Duke winning since they already have championships.
They don't want Auburn to win either.
They bitter little people. They really thought they were beating us last night .🤣
If we can't win I'd rather it be a SEC team, personally.

If we don't win, I want Houston, the thought of any other team winning makes me ill. However, the thought of the team that knocks us out winning also makes me ill. If we win today I will consume too much celebratory diet coke and Krystal's and get ill. Either way, I'm gonna puke.

The one thing they always had was basketball to be better than everyone else (just wait til basketball season). Now they don't have that. They don't have football. They don't have baseball.

We lost to Ohio State in the football playoffs and they eventually took the title, which gave me a TINY bit of consolation. I suppose I might feel something similar if we lose to Houston and they win it all. I'd rather we just take the whole thing.
