‘23 LA QB Arch Manning (Texas commit)

It's a long way to signing day and we have the following working for us:

Peyton Manning in his ear.

QB friendly Josh Heupel

Others too numerous to mention.

If our offense breaks out this year (consider Weinke and Will Friend and others gone so just that is a nice positive) we look even more promising. JMHO

We are not even good enough to make the list of schools that Arch Manning will be visiting....I would have thought we could at least be a school he considered given the legacy

From an article on SDS:

"Those aren’t the only schools on Manning’s radar as Stanford, USC, Notre Dame, and Ohio State were mentioned as schools that Manning would like to visit. Virginia, North Carolina, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Duke were also mentioned as schools that have Manning’s attention at this time."

If we show improvement and are somewhat competitive and exciting anything can happen. We are considered a door mat to most kids his age.
It's honestly not that so much...
It's not having to follow in the footsteps of the greatest QB in history who also happens to be your uncle.

Based on what I've been told Arch and his family really like and have a good relationship with Sark at Texas....Arch went to their Spring game a couple weeks ago.

Some guys in the RF postulated what I think is a plausible theory, i.e., that Arch has and can see Tennessee any time he wants to because of the Peyton connection. Same with Ole Miss, no need to schedule visits. Both were left off the list, so the list is just 5 schools he wants to see, not a final 5.

While we're dreaming and wishing here's what needs to happen to have a really solid chance...

1...We need to coach up and have 2, better for 3 of our QB's ready to rock our new O to show Arch and others that our new O isn't hard to learn and be productive in.

2...Rack up 60 points or more against OOC teams.

3...Take a big early lead so our 2nd and 3rd QB's can get in the game and show that our O can work for several different QB's.

4...Have our D playing really tough and getting takeaways to give our O more chances to score more.

5...Getting 1 or 2 WINS against teams that nobody gives us any chance at like the Gators, UGa or alaBummer.

This is asking far too much for a brand new coaching staff trying to teach a roster that lost many of their best players to the transfer portal and installing completely new O and D playbooks.

But we all know that on any given Saturday against any team stranger things have happened.

Just ask Appy State against Michigan, LOL!

That's why we watch all the games.

VFL...GBO!!!

Let’s just use this example. Say you are Tim Tebows son. You gonna want to go to Florida? The guy needs to carve out his own legacy without having insane expectations to live up to.
