N-O-B-O-D-Y who has a chance to play ball at TN chooses to go to ETSU or Tusculum.

Not in any major sport. Only exception is if they are being offered a scholly at lower level and not at UT.

I never said he would play at those smaller schools, just that my son would attend something along those lines.

Maybe Coleman would feel better at a smaller power 5 school? I have no idea.

I was only stating the mentality isn’t as far fetched as the person I originally quoted.

I agree that many would prefer smaller schools, but we are talking coveted athletes, not students.

If he wants a smaller community for the school he attends, TCU would probably be a lot better for him. About 9000 students total, and a much more contained campus than Tennessee (although in a fairly large city). Some kids just prefer a smaller setting like that. TCU’s football fan base is also a lot less rabid than Tennessee or most SEC schools.

If he is nervous about playing in big stadiums, then I question why he’s even looking at Power 5 schools.
