'19 LA WR Dywan Griffin

It’s the Tennessee way.

Unlikely to reach this year. WR isn't a real pressing need, LSU could end up with either 1 - 3 WRs depending who is available. LSU has Palmer (committed) and Lee is a high possibility (also possible he plays S/LB), LSU would definitely take Pickens, if he flipped.... as far as I know that is about it at that position unless something strange happens.

If we miss on Haselwood and Pickens?

Vols hope (and are expected) to host Henderson on OV in January. Dwyan Griffin out of New Orleans another name to keep an eye on.

Arjei Henderson is more than likely announcing FSU tonight.

Haselwood is going to Oklahoma.

Pickens is a possibility but he’s still committed to Auburn and there are concerns about his academics.

Simontons comments above about “one to keep an eye on” sounds just like what he said about Jarrod Means just a few weeks before he signed.

All said and done, this might be the receiver we end up with in this class.

I don't see how we fit another WR in this class, and if Callaway stays, it's not our biggest need. It's possible Griffin could be a late signee that could be forward-counted.

Pruitt said after ESD that he wants to add 1 or 2 more skill positions in this class. If he wants them, he'll find a way.

Because with the probable departure of Latrell Williams, we’ll lose 5 WR after 2019. It’s aleays been 2, just now it’s become 3.

Williams was always leaving. We need elite WRs, which is why letting speedsters like Brown go elsewhere was surprising. I can see giving a spot to a playmaker like Henderson or Pickens-- even though Pickens is an academic risk. We could also try to pick up a grad transfer.

I agree with elite receivers, it’s just that for a pro-style offense, this team has maybe one or two true Z-type WRs. Brown was probably the #1 of those in this class, but we’re going for body types (this, Griffin). Not gonna pass up Haselwood for any reason, but need another Z to go with Means. Pickens, risk as he is, would fit perfectly opposite Keyton.

I'd be cool with Griffin being added. I really liked his film from when they first offered him. Put up some really good numbers too.

Apparently Jordan Young had an injury that set him back. Hence the lack of playing time and eventual redshirt.

Keyton makes the WR class acceptable but man...can't help but feel like the staff misjudged their chances with a lot of their top guys. We're gonna need 3 or 4 more receivers in next year's class too.

Callaway and Jennings here for 1 more year, Palmer and Murphy will be here for 2 more years, Tillman for at least 3. Bring Keyton along next year to make sure we don’t miss a beat after Callaway and Jennings leave, and just make sure we hit on at least 2 big name guys next year.

I feel like RB and WR will be our priorities next year. Not incredibly necessary that we hit on anyone major this year (although we did with Keyton and Gray), but we’ll need more than just one pretty good prospect at each next year.
I THINK i made sense

Yeah better familiarize yourself with this guy because if we take another receiver, it’s probably him.

And if you watch his Hudl, it’s hard not to be excited about his potential.

Would rather them send the house at the FSU DBs and move Taylor to offense in 2020 if they can flip one of them. Murphy, Palmer, Keyton, Means, even Grey possibly and whoever they sign in 2020 along with Taylor would be fine. If they aren't able to flip one of the two FSU DBs then you probably go ahead and take him, but if Pruitt and co can flip Jay or Dent along with getting Hill and eventually move Taylor to WR once the defensive backfield is bulked up it would be a much better option. Especially if they can snag a solid WR or two next year and sign another lock down corner to go along with Jay/Dent and Thompson, Burrell, Fields, and Buchanan

I think pruitt offered as a corner. That dude played press coverage, great hip turn to track the receiver then high points the ball with a nasty one hander. Gotta remember fellas pruitt wants man coverage corners who can hold there own. Kid looks like he could be special.

Yeah, that's why I think Jay should be their number one realistic priority (Bogle, Haselwood, To'oto'o, and Pickens aren't coming) outside of locking down Wright. We also need some length at corner. At least 1 or 2 guys that are 6'2-6'3 that can cover

Tennessee is set to host four official visitors this weekend, including a pair of Louisiana natives — QB/ATH Lance Legendre and WR Dwyan Griffin.

Both of these guys are David Johnson recruits.

There's obviously been a lot of scuttle about Johnson possibly looking around (LSU, AU and Houston have all been mentioned in some capacity) but if those visits remain on track — and right now they are — I'd be surprised if any staff movement happens before this weekend.

Now ... if those visits get cancelled...

The New Orleans native (and brother of former 5-star Texas A&M wideout Speedy Noil) is an under the radar prospect discovered by wideout’s coach David Johnson.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound receiver is a former basketball player who played high school football for the first time in 2018. He had 931 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns, drawing scholarships from Memphis, UTSA, Louisiana and others.
The Vols continue to try and flip 5-star Auburn wideout commit George Pickens, but Griffin is another name to keep an eye on, especially if Tennessee truly wants to add another wideout to the class.
