Lady Vol Non-Conference schedule 2024-25

Our non-conference schedule by 2023-24 NET rankings (without West Palm Beach Classic opponents, which last year included the #18, #49, #55, #75, #109, #117, #158, #229, #258, and #280 teams):
#2 UConn
#5 Iowa
#39 MTSU
#43 Florida State
#128 Memphis
#134 Liberty
#219 UT Martin
#259 Samford
#310 UNC-Central
#329 Winthrop
#350 Western Carolina

LSU's schedule last year by 2023-24 NET rankings:
#16 Colorado
#19 Virginia Tech
#61 Virginia
#113 Kent State
#172 Louisiana
#177 Southeastern Louisiana
#201 Niagara
#241 Jacksonville
#263 Coppin State
#276 Northwestern State
#340 Texas Southern
#346 Queens
#347 Mississippi Valley State
#352 McNeese

Obviously, some teams will be up/down compared to last year (e.g., Iowa's probably not a top 5 team this year), but by comparison:
- Top 10 games: Tennessee 2, LSU 0
- Top 25 games: 2 each
- Top 50 games: Tennessee 4, LSU 0
- Top 100 games: Tennessee 4, LSU 3
- Top 150 games: Tennessee 6, LSU 4
- Sub-200 games: Tennessee 5, LSU 8
- Sub-300 games: Tennessee 3, LSU 4

Again, this doesn't include our West Palm Beach Classic opponents, which based on last year's match-ups, would probably give us 1-2 more top 100 or top 150 opponents. While I don't see us having anywhere near the NET #12 non-con SOS again this year, I don't think it will be nearly as bad as LSU's NET #185 non-con SOS.
Almost identical non conference to last season some of the names have changed is all that is different.

I don't see anything approaching the four game gaunlet last season of Indiana, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Ohio St in a row. That was insane non conf scheduling unless you are So Carolina. One good thing about the SEC being so tough is you really don't have to worry about ooc strength of schedule too much. SOS gonna happen.

I think this is a very wise conf sched. We've over scheduled for years, not going to hurt a thing to step back a tad for this season in this situation. IMO it's another good decision CKC has made.

Not in a row but UConn instead of Notre Dame, Iowa instead of Ohio State, Two games in Florida tourney last year Indiana and Oklahoma have to wait and see on those. Florida State and Florida State again, MTSU and MTSU again, and then the SEC with the additions of Oklahoma and Texas, LSU twice, and South Carolina make this schedule just as tough and very similar to last season. I certainly expect the two games in the Florida Tourney to be elite competition to match Indiana and Oklahoma last season if not maybe just slightly less difficult, but I don't see the difference in difficulty except smart enough not to play all of them in a row.

I mostly agree, but that Florida Tourney last year wasn't the same level as the tourneys we've been in recently. Baylor was the best team there (and the only one who ended up making the NCAA tournament), and they played NET #109 South Florida and NET #117 Providence.

It might not be don't know who is in it. Even if so the addition of Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC takes the place of Indiana and Oklahoma. Iowa may not be as strong as Ohio State last season have to wait and see on that one. Overall this is going to be really close in quality and difficulty to last season which was the number one rated schedule in the country. I have no worries about the schedule just how many of these games we can win.

I see the scheule as easily top ten sos and depending on Iowa this season and the tourney games in Florida top five. As far as getting ready for the NCAA Tourney if your not ready after going through the SEC schedule you will never be ready.
We will have to wait and see, but it doesn’t look top ten.

I'm talking about the real strength of schedule not Massey and I was wrong we were number two behind Iowa. Ranking the difficulty of a schedule we were number 2 behind Iowa last season. This coming season I see us in the top ten at least. If you take RPI and Net together were still number 7 overall.
