Lady Vols coming to an end?

Because it is the University of Tennessee and the girls are no different than the men's programs. They all are Orange and White. We are not two schools. We are one school and one athletic program.

I think someone on the men's side first introduced the blue, maybe Dickey. It was based on UNC. I think the men's basketball team wore some blue for a while under Ray Mears. I am basing this on what I recall reading in books, articles, etc. Those of you who saw the 70s as something other than a newborn, please correct me wherever I'm wrong here.

Correct the baby blue piping was on the E/B uniforms. Piping around neck and sleeves also around Letters and numbers.

maybe a power T with baby blue trim........we do have a blue tick hound for a mascot. Apparently C. Holdsclaw posted on her facebook yesterday........Soon enough we will not be called Lady Vols anymore......

It would be a stupid move to do away with the Lady Vol logo. It generates sales in itself. If there were no seperate logo etc., people would only have to buy one thing and not two seperate ones. If Hart doesn't understand the pull and power of the Lady Vol brand name, he needs to be fired. If you want to see this program disappear into medocrity, that's a good start.

We're going to disappear into mediocrity because of a change to the Lady Vols colors and logos?

Right.

Let's make it where they are orange with black trim. Also, let's not have any manly looking women on the coaching staffs.

FWIW heard this morning that Holdsclaw was just pissed about the Ladies AD going away and has NO information on the "Lady Vol" branding. Per Joan Cronan, the Lady Vols and the brand are going nowhere. Dave Hart isn't stupid enough to want that on his legacy at UT. Additionally, as long as CPS is alive and cognizant, it would be an absolute slap in the face to her to take the Lady Vol brand away.

There was no such thing as a lady Vol 40 years ago, but there sure were Tennessee Volunteers.

Either you are a Tennessee Volunteer or you are not.

I do like the baby blue color, however this is the university of Tennessee...our colors are Orange and white...there is no blue in there. Orange and blue is Florida. Every school but us has one logo for the men's and women's teams...why can't we just do that? Yes it's fine to be different but I just don't understand why we can't just have one logo. So I'm all for just having one logo.

Also, florida calls their women's teams the lady gators, cal is lady bears etc...I highly doubt that will hurt Tennessee at all, to just keep the same logo that the men use and still call them the Lady Vols...The Power T is better in my opinion anyway.

Can anybody give a reason that doing away with the Lady Vol brand will be beneficial? I see no benefit from doing it and quite a few advantages with keeping it.

Navy Blue is a secondary colour. Not powder, but there is blue there.
