Living in Kentucky this is the classic Louisville "little brother" sitting in a classroom vociferously waving their hand back and forth "look at me look at me, what about me!"

If we get that far and Louisville gets that far, it could be a tough game and playing in Louisville is definitely an advantage for Louisville, but at the end of the day, I think we are a better team and I think we will get a pretty good fan turnout, too. In fact, I'm thinking about making the trip if we advance and reasonably priced seats are available. I also think Louisville hasn't been tested this year and is going to be hurt by getting moved out of the Big East into the American conference. Since December 21st, they've played 21 games - 4 of those games were against 2 ranked teams. They lost 3 of them to UCONN (none were competitive) and won one against #25 ranked Rutgers who didn't get invited to the tournament. Meanwhile, the Lady Vols were battling in a conference that got 8 teams in the NCAA tournament and we managed to win that conference tournament. Louisville also isn't going to fly under the radar like they did last year.

The only advantage Louisville has is they are better three shooters. That is easy to neutralize with our tall guards. Last year they were better coached but Holly is improving. I hope both teams make it that far because it will be an excciting game. USC is going to be tough in Knoxville and WVU is going to be no cake walk for Louisville.

Stokes is very strong, has long arms, and good hops. Russell will need time in the weight room to compete.

The other factor is that it will be difficult for TN to get the ball into the bigs. Jefferson is just as fast or faster than speedy and much better on defense.
Jefferson 59 turnovers, 170 assists, 88 steals.
Simmons 75 turnovers 87 assists, 38 steals.

The discrepancy is just too big to expect a favorable outcome if it gets that far.

Sorry...still don't see Kiah Stokes as being the difference maker in this game. Russell would need to worry first and foremost about Dolson. I don't think she's ready, but she may need a trial by fire because Tennessee has no other size.

The concerns for Tennessee will be:
1.) Stewart's overall skill on offense and defense
2.) Dolson's size and passing
3.) KML's shooting
4.) Hartley in transition
5.) Jefferson's penetration
6.) UConn's overall defense
7.) UConn's overall offense

Having said this, you could have put a similar list together for Louisville and Baylor in last year's S16, and we all know how that turned out. That's why the games are played!

welcome to the board if anybody else hasn't said so :hi:

a lot of our problem was injuries last year,they were a gassed team when they played ya'll,it is to early to tell what will happen in this years Tournament and the Lady Vols aren't the same team as last years,best of luck to your team,until they play the Vols :)
