2024-25 Women's College Basketball Rankings - ESPN
Find the 2024-25 NCAAW rankings on ESPN, including the Coaches and AP poll for the top 25 NCAAW teams.
Actually, it does. The LVs started the season unranked and their strength of schedule to this point has been middle of the road.An undefeated team (11-0) ranked below several teams that have 2 or 3 losses already.
Yeah, that makes sense.
I know there are different ranking services but the NCAA NET rankings has us at 21st (which is actually better than I thought it would be)Lady Vols current strength of schedule is 12th overall in the nation

Duke started with a much higher ranking than us but now has 3 losses. They have fallen from 9 to 16. I expect we will leapfrog them soon enough.
Couldn’t have said it better!Coaches poll always seems a little more accurate to me. Right now we’re 5th in the SEC based on that poll. I don’t see this team finishing worse than 3rd, truly.
Like everyone, I’m curious how this team plays in SEC. One thing our OOC schedule was good for was our confidence. We played a tough schedule the last few years but it really didn’t do anything for us but prove we couldn’t beat a ranked team.
We will have two really good tests early in SEC play. I think the OU game is a must win for us and I do think we can win that one for sure. They don’t have the best ball handlers and we are way more athletic. Make Beers sprint up and down and guard on the perimeter and she’ll be gassed. They’re used to her being around the rim on defense and allow a lot of penetration, she won’t be there to back them up against our 5 out style. Zee has proven she can and will shoot from the outside. Win that one and we’re likely a Top 10 team headed into the next week.
They open up with Texas and we play Texas A&M so that is advantage us as far as preparation goes. We have LSU right after A&M and could stand to lose that one.
I do suspect we lose the LSU game after the OU game. It’s a bit of a trap game for us and KM is an excellent coach, like her or not. They have the guards to beat our press and will have a good game plan for that.
The one game I REALLY do not want to lose is Vanderbilt. It’s January 19th and Kim’s due date is the 20th. Who knows when the baby comes but I kinda suspect we are without her for that game. It’s on the road and we have to play in that awful gym, potentially without our coach. I’m nervous for that one.
