her comments about "Tn is not for everyone" and "you have to decide if you want to be here"

I think she was placing that comment to Nared and/or Meme.

No way to know for sure...those two did not come to my mind at all. I am not sure who (if anyone) she may have been directing it to, but I did notice she went on about it for a while.

Nared has been here going on 4 years....why would she be talking about her????

I don't believe she was...and she may not have been directing it to anyone. I just noticed she did seem to go on and on, but sometimes I read too much into things. I believe she wants and expects everyone back.

I've never heard anything about Jaime Nared looking to leave. She and DD have said they want to provide senior leadership for the team and lead the LVs to a championship. But there have been hints that some players don't work as hard as others and perhaps that has caused a bit of friction?

I'm not a big Holly fan nor am I a Holly hatter either. I've seen the call for some coaches like the one from Maryland, look at all the top players she has lost, Holly has not had this to happen to her. There is a lot more to coaching then X and O. Holly must be doing something right for Diamond DeShields and Mercedes Russell to come back. They must believe in her and they know here much better than anyone of us. Holly said they have 6 hours a week to lift weight and talked about what Mercedes Russell needed to work on as well as Diamond DeShields. Holly said they have two hours a week to practice with the coaches during the summer. Holly said DD and MR could take classes so they could have more time in the gym. Holly said most of the freshman had never lifted weight in their life, I believe this is why Te'a Cooper will be in the lead for the point guard spot. If you look at all the top teams they had great guard play this is what our big 3 were lacking on this team. We should have it this year and can run an more up tempo game next year and get some playing time for the freshman. I believe Holly biggest challenge next year will how she handles the sub in and out. I so excited for the year to start.

The National Champions team started a freshman who wasn't a McD AA and a talented-but-erratic guard forced into starting duties at the start of the NCAAT due to injuries.

The National Runner Up team started a pair of 3-star players that weren't heavily recruited by other DI programs.

The National Semifinalists started 3 of 4 guards that did not have significant starting experience until this season, with none of the 4 having any McD AA honors (an argument can be made for that Canadian girl...).

Tennessee was led by a McD AA PG that has started for the previous 2 seasons and a McD AA SG who won the 3-pt shooting contest and skills challenge.

The problem isn't that Tennessee didn't have the right guards; the problem is that Tennessee doesn't have a coach that can make her players better.

Holly's biggest problem is that she's not a very good coach.

That "TN is not for everyone; you have to decide if you want to be here" is straight from Pat. Pat said that many times over the years and it usually involved player work ethic. Holly has been more tolerant and less demanding than Pat, and we've all seen the results. Maybe she's toughening up and signaling players they'd better do the same.

Please explain how that might improve the poor offense the team so frequently displays.

She was giving her opinion on transfer no difference than geno it's true if you are in happy at tenn you should leave because it brings a bad energy to team but I think she wants everyone to stay but I would not be surprised if Dunbar left or Harris but I think holly wants everyone to stay if you know holly she would not push anyone out

Why would Dunbar leave? She is hardly going to be a star for 1 yr anywhere. She is a senior in college...will have a better than average chance to be part of a very dangerous basketball team...on what planet would it not be a huge surprise for someone to give that up to sit out another year before playing...she isnt a star. You must think basketball is the only thing women go to college for at all. She is a student athlete! Notice what comes first? It is not a career for but a handful. Even in her wildest high school dreams she was preparing for a life after basketball and a profession.

Absolutely right. It's amazing how many people don't get that.

If she worked on her game during her three summers of being on campus. And surely she took some courses???? She probably needs few courses to graduate and this should be her easiest year academically!!!???

This x 1,000,000

And for those who may not know, Kortney is a high achieving student athlete.

Beauty and brains too!

Just a point of clarification...,.,

My point was not about Kourtney per se. What I was agreeing about is the point about student athletes and that very few of all college womens athletes play past college. The opportunity that is afforded the majority of student athletes gives them some important tools to succeed after basketball. Student athletes have a more difficult "row to hoe" than just a typical student in that they need to excel at several different things as they represent the school. Scholastics, sports, and public perception all present unique challenges and should not be taken for granted.

Mr. Rickster, that was a lucid, well thought-out, intelligent analysis.

With apologies to Fred Gwynne.

A little applied symantics may help others understand🌽

Well I'm lost. What is symantics? Do you mean semantics? Not being a jerk, my great great great great...(you get the idea) actually wrote the dictionary. I can't stand a word I don't know, unless it's technical then:snoring::yuck:. (Long family history of engineers....they don't think right:)).

she shoots the three well, this past season excepted. she holds onto the rebound with strength, doesn't lose it like Mercedes does all the time, and she passes the ball on time and with precision.

there, 3 things!
