LVFL Mackenzie George Signs With Brooklyn Football Club
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Brooklyn Football Club announced Tuesday that it signed former Lady Vol Mackenzie George ahead of the inaugural 2024-24 USL Super League season, pending league and federation approval.
The USL Super League is a professional women's soccer league set to kick off in August.
Built for the future of women's soccer, the USL Super League has committed to U.S. Soccer's Division One standards, reflecting its collective vision to be a global leader on and off the field while providing more opportunities for more women in more communities.
The inaugural 2024 season will feature 8 teams with additional teams set to join in subsequent seasons.
George played at UT from 2019-22, starting 73 matches in which she appeared, earning 51 total points with 15 goals 21 assists. In 2022, George was named number 89 on Top Drawer Soccer's Postseason Top 100.
The Lincoln, California, native was a three-time All-SEC selection, receiving first team honors in 2021 and 2022.
Racked up All-region and All-American honors while also being tabbed as CHSAA and Metro League Player of the Year.
Played a crucial role in the Class 3A State Championship, scoring two goals in the 3-0 win.
First team all-state, first team all-Colorado and first team all-conference in both soccer and track,
Won track and field league titles in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash and 4x100 relay; Also finished runner-up in the 4x200 relay state championship,
Played club for Broomfield Blast SC Girls Academy,
Owns the school record at Jefferson Academy for points in a game with 15 and averaged 4.2 ppg.
During her senior season, she led the team in goals and assists.
Ran track in high school, winning the Metro League championship in the 200m and qualifying for state in four events.
Won two USYS National League Championships while playing for her club team, Broomfield Blast SC Girls Academy, and was also the State Cup MVP.
Four-time member of the Platinum Honor Roll, the highest honor roll at Jefferson Academy.
