Not sure which of the incoming class is actually enrolled but I am sure that Kaitlyn Martin who is the power hitting left hander gave up her LV scholarship and is now enrolled at UT Martin. She was the young lady from South Gibson County High School who was the valedictorian.
I just checked the softball roster at UT- Martin and Martin is on it. Strange! Why would she give up a scholly to play for UT and enroll at such a small, low profile program--playing time? This begs for explanation as it is hard to imagine anyone doing this!
That's a big loss....Anyone have some facts about this?
This girl has star written all over her.
No way!hmy:
Do what?hmy:
I agree. She was going to be a star pitcher/position player at UT. I bet it has to be grades. Why else would she decide to go play elsewhere when UT was her dream school?
Makes no sense other than grades. However, like shortstop said she was tops in academics in her graduating class. I don't see how it could be that. This is crazy & very bad for the Lady Vols. I'm like you I want to know more about this story. It's very strange!

I also checked Google and nothing....
She is the one girl I was looking forward to seeing....This just sucks.
This is a strange turn of events - nobody ever even mentioned it --
Guys no worries hate to lose Martin best of wishes to her at UT-Martin....in the 2017 class we have coming in the 2016 Georgia player of the year so we will be alright in having Martin not come to UT[/QUOTE
She would have helped us with the power bat this year I really believe and a lefthanded pitcher if needed. I know that we are disappointed especially when she had committed when she was in the 8th or 9th grade. She will make ut martin a better looking team in the first game!

You beat me to it. I was going to say about the same thing you just posted. She is a big loss to us period. People are blind if they can't see that. She was ranked in the top 60 softball high school players for 2016.
Yes, we have some good players still coming in but Martin was going to be one of the best in my opinion. It hurts badly but it hurts even worse right now not having ANY answers at all about the situation.

Not only that but, why UTM over other Power 5 schools ? It doesnt add up and even the press has been silent on it
