Power hitting team with very good plate discipline. Good defensive team and obviously good pitching. Our work is cut out for us.

To be captain obvious we have an inconsistent offense. Some are way too patient seemingly waiting on a walk every time, others (love you Ally) can't wait to hack at anything the pitcher throws up there. Anna is never probably going to be a great hitter but when she stands in and swings she has had limited success but she swings from slapping to standing even during at bats. No real philosophy overall practiced in the box except for Morgan. Listening to Tim Walton last night it was refreshing to hear someone talk about compact swings and approach. Ivy went to the plate with a plan and executed it last night.

Were playing with house money now for the rest of the SEC Tourney. Any games we win going forward just help us with our regional seed and opponents. We'll be the visiting team the rest of the tourney and the lower seed. If some players can break out of their month long slumps I can see us pulling the upset on Arkansas today.

Do you think Ashley will come back for 5th year? Shipman played too many games her freshman year, right? How does the Covid year work out?

Looks like we recruited like she might not come back. Webber is ready to take the job if she doesn't. A couple incoming freshmen also in the mix.

Their RPI is 49....again Tennessee has no bad losses this year
I love the Ladyvols and I think our goal every year is to make the WCWS. I will not lower that goal but I'm not going anywhere in the years we don't make it. To make the WCWS most years you need the top 8 seed so you get the home super regional to make the path easier so in that regard these type loses hurt. It is a huge key to being where we really want to be. Love the players and the team but we have some holes that will make a run to WCWS a hard road, winning a regional will be a triumph with our limitations. It is a matter of perspective of being where we want to be as to just being an average team and I think all of us on here want more than average. I sure the players do to. Lets get on a roll and who knows where we wind up.

Honestly the fact that we haven't really even been in the discussion to make it to OKC in the last several years is why people are pissed at Ralph and Karen. Last time was 2015, and that team really came on late and honestly probably was over-seeded. We haven’t truly been an elite program since the Chavanne-Gibson-Renfroe team that lost to OU in the finals eight years ago, which is the last time we won a game in the WCWS. That team, like many we have had including the 2007 Abbott team, was under-seeded due to RPI.

Honestly I’m not sure the coaching staff really expected Morgan to have the year she has had this season. Up until this season, she’s been a very average player. I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the season she has had.

I've only been watching for a month or more, so I could be wrong here, but seems to me our hitters don't try to hit outside corner pitches to the opposite field. They either don't swing at them and get called strikes against them or, if they swing at them, they pop them up weakly or roll over them and hit weak grounders. I was taught to use all fields and square the pitch up.

As of a month or so ago, Morgan and Ayala were planning on coming back for their Covid makeup year. The NCAA granting the expected relief on scholarship numbers for 5th year players would ensure it.
