Ashley gave everything she had which was a lot.I don't get why they didn't give Turner and/or Bender some innings last night. Ashley's been gutting it out for weeks. Lightening her load could've changed the outcome today. Everybody knew she couldn't pitch the whole weekend. She went till she had nothing left to give, and... season over.
i highly doubt u lose any key players, u will lose some of the pitchers who ride the bench and maybe some of the players who don’t see the field. you have two back to back classes that should help tremendously. There may be transfers after this cluster. The only question is are they bench riders or are they key players.
Head-scratching decisions have become what the coaches are known for. They out-coach themselves and get burned.I don't get why they didn't give Turner and/or Bender some innings last night. i wouldnt give up on callie yet. i think she will be a big help next year. you have to remember her first year was a complete disaster, so this is really only her first full season. she will get better.Offense is what lost us the game vs JMU, which is why we were even in this situation. Without her this team is an NCAAT bubble team at best.
Honestly I don’t see how our pitching situation gets much better next season without hitting the transfer portal. We have an incoming freshman pitcher but she isn’t an elite prospect and … she will be a freshman. At this point I’ve given up on Bender and Turner … and that’s assuming they return.
It would have to be a "mutual agreement"It would be a black eye on the school and its athletic department to just unceremonially dump a coach(es) that have been here 20 years . You just don't do that for the sake of your program and your ability to hire other coaches. Plus, it is just not the honorable or right thing to do.
With one year left on their contract, their new boss should work with them to improve their program. If they can't improve, then maybe don't renew. But thye should be given a visible chance to succeed.

Not sure. Be cheaper to cut ties now with only one year left on her contract. Remember, that's not his coach
You may be correct, now Karen, go find the next Monica!!!!!!Softball is stable and causing UTAD no problems. They have HOF coaches who run a clean program, academics are excellent, they have high character players who stay out of trouble and are campus leaders and role models. They've been to 16 straight NCAATs and played Bama close in the SEC semis. That's exactly what this admin wants, especially now, and they'll overlook other shortcomings and ignore the fact that softball has slid down the rankings.
Zero chance they cut ties. UT will extend unless Karen decides to retire.
