Lady Vols Softball

That whole WCWS setup is so rigged for OK. I was there for the week in 2013 I think it was, when UT made the final. 250 UT fans...8,000 OK fans. It was a road game then.

For JMU it's a road game now. I like the tradition, but c'mon man! It's clearly an advantage.

I notice the Sooners didn't storm the field after the 8th inning. Good job JMU.

I’m not really all that surprised since they did score some runs. Alexander’s attitude carry’s that team. OU may wind up winning it all but that 2013 team is better had it all great great pitching and just as much if not more hitting.

The frustrating thing about going to the WCWS as a non-OK fan is that I sat there every game. And met lots of great people around me. We would chat all throughout the tournament until...the championship. They left, sold their seats, and Boomer Sooners filled them all up. It was a road game. Maybe a few hundred in orange, the rest in their gear.

The next year, OK went out in 2 games. Completely different vibe to the whole thing. Fans of the game and local alums of the teams still left picking up tixs.

Watch the next game and watch the pan/sky shots on TV of the crowd. Bet it will be 60% of it.

And WCWS tickets are sold in sessions - games 1 & 2 today are a ticket. Then they clear the stadium. Games 3 & 4 later today are a ticket. But many who came to watch OK in game 1 won't stick around for game 2 today. That's what happened when I was there.

If this OU team wins it all, it’ll go down as the best team in the history of college softball. They’re just ridiculously good.

I don't agree with that at all. It's not even the best team in their school history, let alone the best team in CSB history. The 2013 team was better. Better hitting 1-9 and MUCH better pitching. They seem better than they are because they've played a piss poor schedule, unlike the 2013 team.

I thought you could not block the plate anymore. Easy to get the out when they let the catcher just sit down on the plate even before she got the ball. Suppose to allow an avenue otherwise we go back to running over the catcher.

Seems like the Okla. State catcher was awfully close to obstruction.

the obstruction rule is literally a matter of opinion for the umpire. Look at what happened to the UT BB team last week vs AL in the SEC tourney. The ruling is in the eyes of the person who issues it. It's so hard to define something that is nearly impossible to define when athletes are playing at full speed and constantly moving.

and yet Gasso was upset when her team got called for interference that was worse than the UT baseball example
