I personally do not like it because you are essentially making a super conference driven by money. I do not like the idea of a super conference because let’s say OU & Texas join, more than likely OU would win the regular season every season just like they did in the big 12 and so there is no parody. What makes a conference like the SEC, specifically in softball, is that any team can flip the switch and be a regular season contender. I would like to see mid-majors like a JMU or Liberty join that conference. Obviously is goes more than softball, but the fact that this move was money driven instead of based demographic is sad IMO.Any thoughts about Texas and OU joining the SEC? That’ll affect more than just football because all their sports teams, including softball, will move to SEC play, correct?

Is it true that even if eleven of the fourteen member schools of the SEC approve of the Texas and Oklahoma crossover that it would take until the 2026 season for current SEC schools to start playing them? Aren't Texas and Oklahoma bound to the Big-12 TV contracts thru 2025? I remember reading that they have stated they intend to honor those contracts. So aren't we still talking a number of years until we play them in any sports.I am for sure am glad that I won’t have to see run rule after run rule on their schedule.

Big 12 is about to be sold for parts to help speed up and adjust scheduling. I anticipate the 2025 timeline will be in the next head or two. If you have your two brands leave, no use in trying to uphold contracts, seek buyouts and let everyone (schools) save themselves.Getting them formally into the SEC was step #1. Step 2 - they'll work on reducing the time period for them to start playing an SEC schedule in all the sports. I've read where some supposed experts are say 2022 or 23 at latest is likely.
Good to hear, because she struggled at PGF and summer ball. I do agree she’s a redshirt but she’s also the reason I feel we took White.I watched all 3 of our athletes play in the PGF All-American Game and I was very impressed with Nicola Simpson. If I am being honest did not have high expectations for her, but she had a good presence in the circle. She was in the low 60s about 60-63, had a really good change up, and good movement on her pitches. What I was really impressed with was that she went and attacked the batters and although the defense had some struggles and loaded the bases she still went and attacked the batters and got out of it. I do think that she has tons of room to grow, but would prefer for her to redshirt this season to work on some mechanics with Megan.
I do think that if we redshirt her, I feel like Karen needs to take the long term view in terms of who pitches when. I think everyone in this thread knows Ashley will be our way to OKC, but in order to make it easier on her I think the staff needs to allow all the other pitchers to pitch against the tough competition early on in the season. I believe this upcoming team has the capability to make it to the WCWS and I have never been this confident in a team since 2013.Good to hear, because she struggled at PGF and summer ball. Don't bet on it being 2026. The only reference I have of a hitting pitcher was Rainey Gaffin and I think the memory of her getting injured in the sec tournament in 2016 left a sour taste in the coaches mouth. I believe that if we had her for regionals that year we would have made it to supers. Correct me if I am wrong, but ashley did have a couple at bats her freshman year and drove in some runsShe has the tools to be a great hitter too but our history is we don't like pitchers hitting.
Yes she hit in a few games and was not bad.The only reference I have of a hitting pitcher was Rainey Gaffin and I think the memory of her getting injured in the sec tournament in 2016 left a sour taste in the coaches mouth.
