I miss Lauren Gibson. She was tiny, but man did she have power and play a darn good second base!

One of the best hitters we have ever had at Tennessee for sure. We were spoiled having her, Chavanne, Dotson and Shipman in the same lineup for three years.

Well that’s good to hear. I’m sure experience helped her. There’s certain pitchers in our past that would’ve cracked in that situation.

Good to hear we are capitalizing on opponents mistakes. I feel that is where we didn’t do a good enough job with last year.

Nicola came in. 1st batter was an E by Ivey. Got out of jam with a strikeout to end the inning. Showed good zip but couldn’t dial in as missed high. Left after the bottom of the inning HR.

Lair and Gibson are two additions living up to the hype early. Lair about had an opposite field HR, missed by a few inches off the top of the wall.

That’s good to hear that Lair & Gibson are good. I am not so quick to give up on edmundson. She obviously isn’t SEC caliber but I do think that she can give us some innings against the lower half of the league or even possibly come in and give the opposition a different look late in games.

Keene looked good yesterday too. Really didn’t know who Lair was but players will stand out. Thompson better heal up. Lair hit a one hopper to the pitcher and was only thrown out by a step. She hit a triple that only Kiki would have had. She also made a beautiful turn on a double play.

Lair is legit, my only concern is will her strong personality make it in Knoxville. She’s day 1 ready either OF/2B.

Keene will have to work hard to get back into shape/game and physical. She was out due a shoulder surgery.

I don’t know where she is in rehab but her swing looked great and she hit one almost to the tracks over left so if she is not totally well it will be scary when she is healthy.

Ideally a #3 shouldn’t be used too much on the weekends, situational, weaker opponent whatever the case may be and get more time midweek. Ashley will get the lions share and #2 will get Saturday start, relief, close innings work. Good problem to have this year.

You need 3 pitchers for a weekend series as the game continues to evolve
