we've also had two pretty good chances to go to the Final Four and utterly collapsed in both games (Louisville and Maryland). Well-coached teams do not panic and collapse in big games; they might get beat, but they don't collapse. We did a fast choke against Louisville--fell into a complete panic before the game was 12 minutes old-- and did a slow choke against Maryland.

We were doing this in Pat's last years too. It is who we are and is our identity as a team because we have done it consistently enough to make it so. That is something Warlick will need to fix, but it isn't necessarily something she created.

The six pack even lost to Ball St. for God's sake.

Who do these players have the opportunity to play with/ against in their pro leagues? WNBA players. Let's be real, just because they aren't playing in the W does not mean they can't. The pay just isn't good enough to leave their pro leagues. So WNBA status doesn't really matter.

No, not exactly. Right after the semester was over before the summer session started, Kia was already playing in a tournament in Spain against formidable opponents such as Spain, France, Turkey and a few others.

My point is give these talented players more than two weeks together, and they would win.

Talent and playing time together are certainly the keys to success.

Well I suspect you would be wrong about Geno. What holly is doing right now, Geno did the same 4 or 5 years ago on their tour to Italy as well. He knew what he would get from his best players, so he played the reserves more.

Yes and they didn't win by fifty they beat the Netherlands 73 to 53 only led by two at halftime.

They beat an Italy team Naples or something like that 78 to 57.

They played Italian Select and won 98 to 52 due to the hot shooting of Lewis who hit about 8 threes in that game.

So whomever said they would win every game by fifty was wrong.

He played Lewis a lot but she was a freshman just a very good one.

The play has been really good considering a lot of the Tennessee players haven't played together except these two exhibition games. First a team must have talent second playing together to get better.

The post you're replying to was about USA basketball.

I agreed with the poster who said the MOV wouldn't be 50.

Yes, but as you noted, she was still just a freshman.

This is certainly Holly's year to make a difference at Tennessee. I would go as far as to say she has to make the final four this season or I expect a lot of fans will believe we underachieved. I didn't think we underachieved last season we lost our best post player and most of the perimeter players were streak shooters who had bad games against Maryland.
It certainly appears to me that at least all of the returning players have been working hard on their games over the summer and also their bodies. Several players look bigger and stronger.
I was really impressed with Jones attitude on the board she has never fought for the ball like she did in the Cameroon game the first two seasons I saw her play. The Reynolds shot looks so much better not the push it used to be she is really getting the ball out of the palm and flipping the wrist. She looked impressive shooting the ball against Cameroon.

This year will be very competitive. The Final Four is open. UCONN, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee, Baylor, Louisville, and Duke are teams that I think will be competing for the Final 4.
