Lady Vols - Turnovers

With NIL cant they just buy a new team?[/QUOt It wouldn't matter when you have a coach that can't teach defense. They NEVER guard the three point line, Missouri would have put the game away in the first half if they could have managed to hit any of their shots. I was at the Uconn game and it looked like they were simply having a shoot around from the 3 point line with NONE of our guards close, and it has been that way all season long. It's gonna get worse

The Lady Vols haven't even been competitive in games against ranked opponents this year. Following the LSU game next week, the LV will be just another .500 team. I just don't believe Harper can get the job done. The AD whiffed on this hiring, when they may have been able to have gotten Kara Lawson.
…or Dua Lipa! 😜

Not competitive? Here's how we've done against ranked teams...

at Ohio State: 75-87 (we were up 41-33 at halftime)
vs. Indiana (w/out Horston): 67-79
vs. UCLA: 63-80
vs. Gonzaga: 72-73 (we were up 36-30 at halftime)
vs. Colorado (now ranked): 69-51
vs. Virginia Tech (w/out Jackson): 56-59
at Stanford: 70-77 (we were up 5 going into the 4th)
vs. UConn: 67-84 (36-40 at halftime)

We've struggled to close out games but I'd hardly call that uncompetitive. And even we if lose at LSU, we'd be 16-8. How is that .500?

LOL four of the seven losses were by 12 points or more! And you're arguing they are competitive?

Edit- my comments were not directed toward your post @ travis.

So now the program is now at the point where TN celebrates moral victories by keeping the score close and/or winning at halftime.

Obviously there is a problem if the coaching staff can’t recruit players who can score. I don’t watch every game, but this Lady Vol team looks slow and the turnovers are horrendous.

Horston (sp) is a gamer and a joy to watch. But it’s embarrassing to see a historical program get its butt kicked by a team missing three of their starters. TN was dominated in the 1st qtr and 2nd half.

They may make the dance but gone are the days having expectations to reach finals fours.

Time to look outside of the Summit coaching tree. Someone who can actually recruit some offensive players I think Jeff Walz would be an awesome candidate.
