Rennia Davis the sophomore

6 points
3-14
Zero rebounds,
Zero assists,
Zero steals,
Zero blocks

Please stop coming for other players on this team who actually move, hustle, and play defense, and is not afraid to mix it up.

Every single player who played in the game got a rebound aside from Rennia.

I am very disappointed in her play, her demeanor on the court. She misses the shot, fouls, turns it over, you can see it affect her in her body language and face. Not good at all. You run your behind back to offense/defense and keep it moving.

Yeah how do play an entire game with no rebounds, steals, or assists? Davis may be pressing too much and wants to win really bad, on the same side she just isnt aggressive enough on the court. Holly needs to either sit her to prove a point, or try something else to get her going again.

We didn’t lose because of those passes.

I never said that.

However,Westbrook's turnovers stand out because 1.She's the PG...2. Many of her turnovers are low percentage passes...and 3. They come at critical points in the game...When a team makes a run. Your pg is supposed to maintain her cool, settle things down, run the offense and get a quality shot. Westbrook had key turnovers at pivotal points of this game. Even Lawson voiced her opinion about Westbrook's low percentage passes.

Example:

1) ND up 39-38. Westbrook commits a lazy turnover while inbounding the ball. This leads to a 2 pt fast-break layup to complete a 9-0 ND run.

2) ND up 47-43. Westbrook commits another turnover when she attempts a 25 foot on the run pass to one of our post players. This leads to a ND fast break and 2 Ogunbowale free throws.

EW committed a turnover during the last 2 minutes of the Arkansas game....loss game by 1 point.

Westbrook is having a fantastic Sophomore season. I just think she needs to make better decisions as our #1 playmaker/facilitator.

The inability to shoot the ball it the reason this team has lost six in a row. Another 35 percent shooting performance the flaw of this team is totally revealed. This may be a team of five stars but none of these players other than maybe Evina have an consistent ability to make shots. The fact that we got up 76 shots to their 59 and still lost by 15 shows our total inept ability to score. What Holly has done is recruit a lot of top athletes with limited basketball skills that need a lot of developing.

Lost because of coaching...All of our players are winners...they just need someone who will do a better job of steering the ship...Ky, Sc, Ark, Mo, etc are playing with less talent, but their coaches are getting them over the hump...we've seen Zaay, EW, Meme, Rennia & Cheridene have great games this year...the good coach could bring that out of them almost every night...these players need to be guided...Talent is NOT the issue, the coaching IS...LVFL 🤘

We didn't see many nights like this last year when she was a freshman, because Jaime & Mercedes were there to guide her through...the freshmen were being led by example...put the examples are gone now...

I'd expect any of these girls' high school coaches would be more successful than CHW.
Doubt it! Just go to any HS or AAU game with one of these so called 5* recruits! The Coach just pretty much lets them run rough shot over smaller inferior competition! These kids are coming in already uncoached!

Who keeps putting her in the game?

I think it's less about leading by example and more taking the brunt of the defensive attention so that Rennia could quietly get open for high percentage shots. Jaime benefited the same way when Diamond was there.

During Diamond's last year, it was "I can't wait until Diamond's gone. Jaime's so much better. Look at her FG%! She should be the go to player."
During Jaime's last year, it was "I can't wait until Jaime's gone. Rennia's so much better. Look at her FG%! She should be the go to player."

Let the record show that at the end of last season, I was predicting that Rennia would the player to get thrown under the bus as Holly's faithful defenders assign blame to her for the program woes, and she becomes the Scapegoat of the 2018-19 Season.

Saw a stat somewhere a few years ago, about the percentage of success of a basketball pass exceeding 25 feet in length, having a very low percentage rate of completion.......

In the man's college game, the results were a little higher than the women's rate....Ever since reading this article, whenever I see one of these type of passes, especially by a woman's college team, the stats prove the futility of such passes....

These type of passes are often done attempting to beat the defensive team to the basket on a break away, but often end up as a turnover, or the ball going out of bounds, thus giving the ball back to the team you were trying to score a quick basket against....

In short, stop throwing the pass looking for the impossible dream...

The down-court throw is essential for FB's so that one you have to take your licks for.

It was the cross-court lofts that killed us.
what they call a skip-pass. (cross-court).
It is one of the most stolen passes in the women's game.
I have studied this pass.
It is simple mathematics..
The ball is in the air for about half a second.
Most female players at this level can get BL to BL in under 4 seconds and the faster ones around 3.3 ...BL to BL is 96 feet...24 feet a second for average and 29 feet a second for a speedster. Half a second 12-15 feet.

When you throw that skip pass you have to either catch them napping or make sure they are 15 feet away.

If Holly is still here and assuming no transfers? Easily, Zaay Green. But you can pencil in Jordan Horston for the following year.
Remove Holly and end the cycle...these players have too much skill that is waiting to a honed...go LVFL 🤘

Rennia is the one player that you can tell doesn't want to play for Holly anymore.

Honestly nobody should come for ANY of the players. At this point you're blind if you don't see where the blame lies: right on the shoulders of Frances Hollingsworth Warlick.

Yep. We've gone from Simmons, to DeShields, to Nared, to Davis.

Is Horston a 1, 2, combo guard? What do you guys think she’ll excel best at for the team?

Holly and the Assistants have turned Davis from a productive player into a total head case. Not the first time it has happened to a player with Holly as coach. A lot of players have went from playing well as freshmen to total disasters as sophomores.

Looks like most of this years freshman came in as disasters!
