He is uber pissed at the Bears right now for giving him the franchise tag. He says he wont play for the bears this year.

Maybe the Titans will call and offer a 6th round pick in exchange for Briggs and the Bears' 6th round pick.

The Bears are falling apart quick. They bgasicaly gave away thier back to the Jets, Briggs says he won't play and they still have no QB

yep the GM angelo gets a raise and starts to sell off the team and coaching staff. sounds strange.

I can't see myself leaving 7.2 mil laying on the table. I saw an interview tonight and I don't think these guys realize how rediculous they sound saying they don't think they could make it on that money.

I used to get pi$$ed when players held out or pulled a T.O., but the teams do the exact same thing when it comes time to pay veteran players.

i'm a bears fan and briggs is in the wrong. he wants more money than urlacher and it isn't going to happen. he is going to get paid 7.2 million this year so he needs to shut up and play. they offered him a 6 year 34 million dollar deal at the beginning of the season last year and his idiot agent drew rosencrapper told him to turn it down. he won't be near as good without number 54 in the middle.

Briggs is having 2nd grade temper tantrum. Let him scream it out of his system and give him time out in the corner. He'll come to his senses.

Or he will retire a Chicago Bear with the 2006 season being his last. Angelo said they would franchise him again next year just to piss him off

I saw him in an interview. It seems all he wants is a good LONG TERM contract. The Bears have now given him a good one year deal, but they didn't offer him anything special in the long term.

The Bears could not afford it. Briggs is good, but Urlacher and Brown are the heart and soul of this defense so I don't blame them for not paying him an unGodly amount of money to play second fiddle to Urlacher.

And also, why cry about making 7 million a year?

they offered him a 6 year 34 million dollar cotract at the beginning of last season. that is a long term contract. his buddy drew said it wasn't even close to what he wants. the guy is a chump. that is the reason talks were broken off angelo won't deal with drew anymore.

It's a long term contract, but he felt it wasn't adequate pay for a multiple pro-bowler.

remember colvin who played for chicago. great player with the bears. so so with the pats. 7.2 mil is plenty, he needs to quit crying and play the game.

Actually, I think he's stated that 7.2 mil/year would be fine, he just wants to make that much for an extended time period, not just one year.

so you agree with briggs that he deserves to get paid more than the best player on your team. like i said without #54 he is not a top 5 linebacker.
