Deserve national recruiting recognition. I know this class isn't done yet and we may not hold onto/land everyone we want/think we may right now, but either way these guys have done a great great job!

This staff lost 2 great recruiters in December, then it lost it's head coach, a defensive coaching legend and one of the most renound recruiters ever a few weeks ago. Then had 2 other staff members fired, then another one hired away in the dark of the night.

The amount of work and committment these two have shown is nothing short of impressive. I know we have been giving Dooley a ton of credit which he deserves, but I doubt he could be doing half as well as he is without these two guys.

Mad props to Thompson and Chaney!:toast:

These two coaches have quickley became my favorites! They should both be rewared with raises and extensions!

The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder carries a 3.2 grade-point average and previously had offers from Alabama A&M, Arkansas State and Tuskegee before the Vols came along.

This is a Lance Thompson guy

I look forward to a Chaney-run offense.

I think if the game is on the line, we may actually score from the one yard line.

They definitely have played a big part in holding together this recruiting class and our football program in general. Big props to them!

Lets pound the football, when was the last time one of our running backs jumped over the pile on the one. We use to do it all the time under PF. Travis Henry, Gereld Riggs, Jamal Lewis, did it all the time.

Could not agree more with the thesis of this thread. Chaney and Thompson have held it together, and I think further props need to go to Hamilton by basically making their positions on this staff non-negotiable to any new HC.

To think-we could have had Cutcliffe and that ground-breaking staff from Duke. Ahh, what could have been (that being a lot of 2 star recruits).

Back when we had a dominating O-Line. Zone blocking doesn't work well with the over the line dive.

Great Thread Eric Vol.

These guys should reach football god like status at UT for their tremedous efforts in keeping this class together and preventing UT from falling apart. Without them, this entire class could have left. Give CDD credit also for recognizing good ones, and being willing to keep them on staff.

GO VOLS

Definitely give them a ton of credit, as I'm sure does CDD. Wonder if this means Thompson will be the DC?

Best Vol back I can remember leaping over the pile at the goal line was James Stewart. He made a living off that play.
