If CLT would make a great DC, why is he not a DC. He is probably a great guy, but just because Sal did not workout does not mean CLT would have been better. He is obviously a good recruiter, but for some reason he is not a hot commodity for a DC position. Dooley may have really messed up with CLT, but no one else scooped him up as a DC.

There may be reasons why he has never been given a chance. But I agree, if I had been CDD I would have never let my coaching future rest on an unproven DC.

Well that was when the Sal kool aid was just being served.

I think this is an example why the "home run hire" can kill you in the end. LT wasn't good enough for this team a year ago as DC and we went with SS as a "big move" thinking he brought the Alabama success with him. He had never been a DC either. It back fired tremendosly bad. We should learn from this when we make the head coach hire. Look at what they can do, not the popularity or fame they may bring.

LT is happy! He went from a sucky (coach) team to a team that is in contention to be NC's! HE IS SMILING FROM EAR TO EAR and realizing what a promotion he received from leaving UT! He could not have done a worse job than what DD hired! He should have been given a chance compared to changing to a 4-3 defense that we all know didn't work! He is LOL at what a DumbA** CDD made the decision to let him go! He would have done much better at DC than Sal! JMO

Good for Lance...I'm still not 100 percent it would have saved Dooley to name him DC but if it helps everyone else to sleep at night....
