I know this isn’t popular, but I have really never had an axe to grind with Kiffin. Yeah, it sucked he left after one season and I thought he would’ve done well here. But, he operated within the four corners of his contract and that contract had a very paltry $1M buyout or there about. That was easy money for USC just to reach in their front pocket and throw it on the table. If UT had thought much of him, there wouldn’t have been such a low buyout. That was a weak link in the contract that USC and Kiffin were more than happy to exercise. Our fault, bad oversight on our part. I was more pi$$3d over all the fake injuries in 2021 and there was absolutely nothing we could do about it.

Good story. I can’t really hate him anymore. He did what he did. Been over it for a long time now.
I been over him as well for years now, but amazed at how many times posters keep him fresh on this forum. Him and Gruden --some fans seem to just never let go. The way Old Miss ended the season last year, he better be looking out for his own job.

For the record, we all agree that a hot dog gets mustard on one side and ketchup on the other side?

The officials making the most corrupt call in CFB that year didn't help. We clearly and cleanly got the strip sack on their attempted cutely trick play, no whistle blew, the refs ran down and signaled touchdown. Replay showed everyone was set, the snap was clean etc and they still screwed us and ruled the play dead. That touchdown being taken away cost us the game and poured about a hundred thousand gallons of gasoline on the fire of the fake injuries and other egregiously bad calls.
it was a poorly officiated game for sure, but honestly, it hasn't got any better. Every year officiating is worse and worse. I officiated many years and being out of position by a foot can make a big difference. Some of these guys need to get out, the speed of the game is growing rapidly.

Yep. I'd take him back. Perfect coach for the portal era.

Can’t possibly lower my character standards enough to begin to consider his return. Don’t have to be an Eagle Scout but that sleaze gene can run deep.

We have recently employed Bruce Pearl, Donnie Tyndall, Butch Jones, Jeremy Pruitt, Todd Raleigh, whoever that swim coach was, and quite a few sleazy assistants on those staffs. Kiffin certainly isn’t lowering the standard here.

Should have learned from those. Don’t want ANY of those as retreads. Not worried about it as long as DW is in charge. Ain’t happening!

Lane Kiffin can suck it. He was garbage human being and still is. Others can waste their time with the mental gymnastics trying to rehabilitate this fool.

I like the guy. I didn't for a while though. He left for his dream job like anyone would and did so when it was first avaiable. That mess was so long ago it doesn't makes sense to hate him still unless you are just bitter.
