They could have been better, yea. I didn't say he ruined us, just that he hurt more than he helped.

Take a look at the classes prior to his arrival or the class ranking right before he left.

Leaving after one year and forcing the rebuild to reboot, effectively canceling out the 2009 season, was what hurt us. We didn't really suffer all that much perception-wise. Hiring an unknown like Dooley wasn't great for short term perception, however.

Hammy should have hired an experienced coach, so Lane would not have to 'sacrificed personal reputation' to make up for his lack of experience. TN had one losing season in the last three years; Saban, Meyer,Chizik,Miles all won the NC right after they were hired so you don't need rocket scientist to do it.

That's a good point. Three coaches in three years is mainly what I was talking about so we are in agreement pretty much.

Hostessgate, etc. didn't help, but that stuff probably isn't that big of a deal in the long run.
