Larry Brown... Kentucky?

These are the same folks that swear Bill Parcells was inches away from the Kentucky football job during their last hire; the expectations of the UK masses do not always come to fruition.

I expect the name to be big. I don't expect it to be Larry Brown.

Kentucky will hire a UNC grad to be their head coach shortly after Al Qaeda names Dick Cheney their new leader.

Have you ever thought about stand up comedy?

By the way, I need to borrow 30 grand from you.

:salute: :whistling:  :eek:k:  :shaking2:

Well, I don't think it sounds THAT crazy. Kentucky is still a premier job in college basketball.

EDIT: Other than that whole UNC grad thing.

It is not the level of the hire that is the problem, it is the person. If Brown can't get along with the franchise he took to the pinnacle of the NBA or the organization that gave him his huge contract in New York, I don't see him cow-towing to boosters at the Big Blue Caravan. Neither will Barnhardt.

If I were Larry Brown, I'd be staying out of the game for a while. Why go back to the game when you just got away with robbing the league's most valuable franchise?

And if you were Kentucky, would you seriously consider hiring the robber?

Yeah, I would have been one of them, but I think Cal will be the man.

I am listening to all of the goings on around Lex. This is in no way a prediction, but I will continue to make the argument that Florida is a football school. Yesterday the Herald Leader reported that they only sold 500 tickets to the second round games of the NCAAs. I realize those tickets are not easy to get a hold of, but the bottom line is this: In Florida basketball will always be entertainment until next football season.

Now that would have its advantages to a good coach. It would mean fewer distractions, and more job security. Would he be a fool to leave Florida for UK....most certainly. UK fans are nuts. They come dangerously close to being a bunch of bammers, but the prestige and cash that comes with this job is enormous.

I dunno, I would love Billy Boy but I think Cal would jump all over it no matter what they throw at him.

I definately see this situation turning into the basketball version of the Bama Hunt for a Coach.

How so? I see the media likening it to Bama, but I don't see it. UK basketball has hardly been the revolving door of coaches, nor has UK ever fired a basketball coach in the modern era- a hallmark of Bama.

The only way that the two resemble one another is that both teams have PASSIONATE fans.

More like unrealstic fans..lol

Every team has unrealistic fans, unless you're a Duke Football fan.

There are a lot of unrealistic UK Basketball fans, but most of them are not.

Do YOU settle for 9-4 football seasons?

Do we run off coaches who win 5 SEC titles in 10 seasons?
