Larry Brown... Kentucky?

How so? I see the media likening it to Bama, but I don't see it. UK basketball has hardly been the revolving door of coaches, nor has UK ever fired a basketball coach in the modern era- a hallmark of Bama.

The only way that the two resemble one another is that both teams have PASSIONATE fans.

Lots of teams have passionate fans. What UK basketball and Alabama football fans have in common is a sense of entitlement about their teams. Both groups of fans expect to win SEC championships routinely, as though it's their birthright; neither seems to accept that times have changed and it's impossible for one team to dominate the conference as in days of old. I'd say that that attitude is what makes the comparison come easily to mind.

If UK gets is first choice, BB Nation will get confirmation that they can have whatever coach they want, which will greatly increase the pressure on their new coach.

Some people will only believe what they want, but Tubby just got tired of the pressure that the UK job demands. It's a grind. People run out of steam for it. Now he has a chance to walk away without losing face. Great for him.

Do I wish that it had worked out for Tubby? Of course. But he had plenty of mulligans at UK- including 5 10+ loss seasons, which is unacceptable at an elite program like UK. He was not humiliated by UK.

Are there crazy, unrealistic UK fans? Hell, yes. But most of us are not. Don't lump all of us into that group.
