duh. do you think saban would want Tennessee with a good coach that would be his azz. why try to insult everyone you dont agree with.

Wasn't trying to insult anybody. Just pointing that because saban says good things about someone doesn't mean they would be a good coach.

Not trying to be a smart a** but saban also spoke highly of dooley too.

That he did. He wanted him here so he could continue to have an easy 50-0 game on the 3rd Saturday of October. He will now have to fight for his life to beat the VOLS while CBJ is here.

Yeah cause 45-10 has Saban shaking in his booties.

Yeah, it was a real fight this year. A fight to keep the students in the stands perhaps.

If a spot came open for Larry Porter they should hire him. He won recruiter of the year a few years back I believe. He did get fired from the HC job at Memphis, so he's no head coach, but they'd be crazy not to hire a recruiter like that.

Why would we want anybody from Texas? They've won 1 NC since 1970, yet are heralded as a Top-5 program.

If these guys had been smarter, they'd still have jobs.

Look at dumb 'ol Will Muschamp. Still trying to run Woody Hayes' offense.

No thanks.

Memphis will probably never win a championship, but before Porter was hired they did have a string of winning seasons and bowl games. With Porter as HC, they nose dived pretty badly. Maybe Porter is like Dooley, and does well in other roles than head coach.

We don't need either of these guys, did you watch the Texas offense? It was downright bad. Let Butch keep some continuity with this staff and let the coaching decisions be made by the man paid to make them.

I think so. Porter reminds me of Trooper, Gran, Napier.. etc. Great recruiters and position coaches but not necessarily coordinators or HCs.

I hope we never get another Trooper! Shoot, for 250 grand a year I'll shout, hoop and holler and do chest bumps!

Major Applewhite is an offensive coordinator...no way he takes a QB coaching job when other schools would want him as an offensive coordinator or head coach

Look at the stats for our RBs and WRs before /after Troop became their coach. Also an A+ recruiter. He may be dirty but the guy is a great position coach. And before you say he only recruits well because he's dirty, remember the classes that put him on the map were here.

Could we potential try and find a spot for a coach like this? Don't get me wrong, I like our offensive staff and wouldn't want to see them leave but Porter has a strong recruiting prowess and could be big in the Texas area. Major Applewhite worked under Mack brown and nick Saban says a lot for him as well. I could be pleased with either of them coming on this staff in a minor role tight ends coach, qb coach?

Can we at least sign 1 elite class before we make staff changes?

Applewhite??? Dude has more scandals than Kiffy. He was caught cheating with a (not even apparently that attractive) co-ed about a year or so ago while his wife was pregnant.
