Is that the last second of the game? Then no. Follow the logic
Oh I read this wrong. Maybe I gotta go back and watch that. Maybe I’m wrong, I don’t remember that. Than yes that’s bush league. I’m sure I was happy it happened. Whatever it was just knee the ball and end the game. There’s really no reason to run a last second play in a blow out. Sorry my opinion ruffles peoples feathers 😂

Lol nvm just rewatched the end of that game. We scored with 38 seconds left in 2022 against mizzou. At this point we are arguing semantics but that score is ok with me. It’s when it’s literally 1 second hits 0 how about call it game?? That’s what happened in the Rutgers game. That’s what I meant by “last second” it was literally the last second of the game.

Actually, it was. There were 36 seconds left in that game when UT scored their final touchdown against Missouri in 2022, which put them ahead by 42 points. Potentially, it was the last play of the game, because there was less than 40 seconds left. They could have taken a knee and ended the game. The same goes for what Rutgers did.

If you disagree, please explain how scoring with 6 seconds left to win by 37 is different enough from scoring with 36 seconds left to win by 42, to label the former as bush league, and the latter as acceptable.

I just saw the Rutgers-Howard highlights on bad beats. I don’t remember hearing as much about the “poor sportsmanship” by Rutgers as I heard when TN scored late against MO.

Rutgers’ late score enabled early betters to cover the -34.5 spread (game time spread was -38.5). Final score 44-7.

We shouldn’t have done that in 2022. But on the other hand it’s Missouri and Drinkwitz sucks, so it’s understandable.

Missouri and 2022 Tennessee were both in the same conference, with the same scholarship limits (actually Mizzou had more because of Pruitt cheating), going after similar type players.

That is different than a Big 10 team scoring late against an overmatched lower division HBCU..

Im not upset about what Rutgers did but comparing us in 2022 and them isnt apples to oranges...

Anybody claim that JH was running up the score against UT Martin when he ran an end around TD pass when we were ahead by 40 points.

That was actually a fook you Jason Simpson moment.😀

Couple of things- Yep, the late score against MO wasn't needed or warranted, but hey - they got revenge and I'll say the same thing about that. As long as the clock is moving, if you don't want to get blown out, tackle, make them punt, and score.

We couldn't stop them last fall and it's the same thing. I don't hate them for it, I hate US for not being able to stop them.

Also, as I get old and salty, I don't think you should ever put a limit on scoring on Beemer, Dorkawitcz, and whoever the new guy is at Bama. I'll throw Kirby in that mix as well. Keep your foot on the gas. Oh, Kentucky too. Dang forgot to mention Florida.
