Last night, Jay Bilas said many times...

Bilas is old-school: He likes smart, fairly fundamental basketball. He does not like sloppy basketball--throwing up bad shots, quick shots--and the Vols have a tendency to be sloppy. In fact, the Vols sort of relished playing up-and-down the court street basketball during the Lofton/Smith years--and it seemed cool, ok, because those guys would come down the court, fire off-balance, gawd-awful shots--and MAKE THEM. This team doesn't make them--and when you take a bad shot that doesn't go in, it just looks like dumb basketball.

If we just shot better our team would be dynamite..

We cant hit an open 3 to save our life..

and we do get alot of open looks, we just make like 1-5 or so

incorrect. Defenses like ours get hammered by good teams.

One of my favorite lines was when one of the announcers, I think Bilas, said we looked like we didn't know where we supposed to be on defense, but by flying around, we were at least being disruptive.

But, I got very annoyed when they wouldn't stop saying the refs blew it by not calling goaltending. I don't care what the rule says. It was the final seconds of a tied game, and the ball had NO chance of going in.

If it's a rule then it should be called , ecspecially if one team benefits from the no-call.

Very few teams can guard UT one on one for a full game. However, zone defenses give us all kinds of trouble because we don't have have good shooters. Hopson and Prince need to focus more on driving to the basket with our frontcourt converging on the basket. This will open up points in the paint, take advantage of our offensive rebounding abilities and give open looks to Tatum from 3. If we were more aggressive in the half court offense and took higher percentage shots then it would greatly help our defense. All these long jump shots cause our players to be out of position when getting back on D. It's frustrating to watch talented guys play stupid basketball and not focus on what each player is good at.
