I said Florida has the potential... And just look at how many close calls they had last year. They are certainly not to be taken lightly. That said, I would NOT put them in the top ten. I might have them cracking the top 25 at best.

milo, sorry man but florida does not have what it takes to be the #1 team in the nation. they haven't even played their first game under meyer yet. he's gonna find out in a hurry that this isn't the a conference he can walk right through.

Didn't say I know -- Nor does anybody else.

Florida has the talent it takes to make it to the top of the SEC, it's just a question of how well Urban Meyer will utilize the talent.

I agree Milo, they probably have enough talent to be a top 25 team. I just think the top teams in the SEC will be able to handle his offense. UT, GA, Auburn, LSU have excellent speed on the defense. The urban myth has not seen this kind of speed!

I could care less as long as we are in the top ten. don't want to be too far back in the pools that if there were 3 undefeated or 3 1-loss teams that we wont be able to make up ground.

Channing Crowder is no longer with the Gators. He'll be getting drafted this weekend. He left early.

I'll say this, I agree that UF is a talented team and PROBABLY has the potential to be a top 5 team. And they got a coach that has been very successful in his young career. But, how many years in a row do they have to lose FIVE games before they are not in everyone's Top 10? #5? Are you kidding me? They are a talented team that has been losing quite a bit lately. Could we at least make them PROVE something before ranking them in the Top 5? :bad:

I think that is a fair statment. I surely don't think we would be ranked as highly as them if we had lost that many games the past few years.

Florida has the potential to be the best team in the country...

Let's face it, they could have gone one loss just as easily last season based just on player's talent. Zook's idiocy kept that from happening, but all they needed was competent coaching and they probably would have beaten us, LSU, Mississippi State, maybe Georgia and maybe have beaten us for the SEC East title. They were literally about 10 combined minutes of gameplay away from this, hampered only by the blunders of the Zooker.

Give that kind talent good coaching and who know what can happen...

I missed that talent last year. Starting at qb, Leak is so-o-o-o slow getting the ball out of his hand and showed in the bowl game against the 'Canes he doesn't like to get hit. Maybe this talent is hiding in the Swamp. And as for Oscar Meyer, he is unproven in any reasonable conference. Watch him implode. :D

Maisel's rankings look alright but a little shaky, and Mark May's rankings are about the stupidest thing I've seen in the last month.

Mark May has always had it out for us....Ever since we put the hurtin on his mighty dawgs last year in their own yard, he's had it out for us....Course who at ESPN don't?

This is crap. Who cares? There just so happens to be a season left to be played.

One good example: look up 1998 and who won the NC that year.

It's spring. . . . football is a long ways away. . . . and these guys are bored and trying to stir up controversy to keep everyone tuned in. Guess what? We're all suckers for even clicking on the link.

Yeah, but in their NC hunt, look where it got them.

UT had swaggar that year, but they haven't had it in a while. They were close during the Cotton Bowl but they need to be a bit more consistant.

If UT is overhyped in the polls to start the season and happen to lose a early game, it could be a downward spiral. They need confidence first.
