Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

So by opening everything back up to pre-covid standards, we aren’t going to then overwhelm hospitals? We aren’t doing contact tracing nor do we do antibody tests or have an vaccine. So if it was important to do at the beginning, and nothing has changed, why do you think hospitals won’t be overrun?
This is why reopening should be incremental.

I think you really overestimate the intelligence of our fellow people. We can’t even get people to wear masks for Christ sake. Now we will trust them to take precautions in their interaction with people?
People don't wear masks and gloves properly anyway. The masking is about the appearance of safety more than actual safety.
Proper masking and gloving should be done by those at risk.

No. Masking should be done by everybody. Just because I’m asymptomatic doesn’t mean that the guy i just coughed on is. We don’t know who’s immunocompromised.

Didn’t you have a some **** takes during election night in 2016? Should we ignore you too?
Well you could. I don’t really amount to much. It’s the people who pander to their base that annoy me. Travis knows exactly what he’s doing. He covers college football primarily, namely the SEC. He also knows the vast majority of people in the SE are conservative by nature.

I just got back from Kroger a couple of hours ago. I, along with well more than half of the shoppers there, didn’t have on masks. This, despite the fact that our brilliant governor made it mandatory to wear a mask in public staring last Monday.

I'm not wearing a mask unless the business requires it.

This country hasn't been in a legitimate lockdown for one minute and people have been "congregating" at various types of establishments to various degrees in every single state. There should be nothing "incremental" about reopening as there is absolutely no danger of hospitals being overwhelmed; if you're scared for your life, then by all means continue to stay indoors while the rest of us move on.

I only wear a mask because I have to. Otherwise I wouldn’t wear one. You, however, would still be free to wear your mask and / or remain “locked in”.

295 deaths in TN. 295!

Out of 6 million+ people.

Get outta here with your knee jerk fearmongering.

I don’t consider being a considerate human being and avoiding killing someone else as fear mongering but to each their own. I realize how much of an inconvenience this is for you guys

It's adjusting.

Travis has been pushing hard against shutdowns for weeks even though there's still uncertainty about where it might lead.
The uncertainty is becoming more and more clear. If you are under 60, and healthy, there is little to no reason for you not to be out and about. The math isn’t going to change at this point. The worldwide data shows this. Does it mean zero risk if under 60 and healthy? Of course not. But the risk is extremely nominal. Keep the elderly at home and safe. Keep those with medical issues at home. Everyone else get back to it. The common saying of the cure is worse then the virus is becoming abundantly evident. 35 million unemployed will be far worse for us as a country then 125,000 dead.
