Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I think there a few on both sides who just can't penetrate or accomplish anything not the status quo.

Those people, should bond and unite and start the new 3rd party who represents probably the majority of Americans.
No more parties because that creates sides, why can't we just have common sense leaders. 1 idea I did like from Trump was term limits on Congress and Senate

In Hamilton county almost half of our cases are Hispanic, they are <5% of the population.

So unfortunately for the media it's not the Trumptard Karens demanding haircuts that are spreading the virus. Also they've started counting anyone at the hospital as a "local" Covid hospitalization regardless of where they're from. Erlanger and CHI serve a very large area into GA and AL, they're sending nursing home patients there from all over and the newspaper says SEE IT'S GETTING WORSE.

I certainly see your point. But two things I think we should consider - 1) There is a constant stream of new information about the virus. This happens everyday. 2) None of us know how free Fauci has been to say what he wants to say. Trump's been trying to minimize COVID since January. I wonder if Fauci's been told to say something he didn't agree with and later corrected that information.

I am willing to cut Fauci slack on the fact that new information changes things. I just can't fathom what changed to make him flip on sending kids back to school. I'm more willing to believe facts changed his tune on the inevitability of a second wave in the Fall, another issue where he flipped 180 degrees. Ditto on the mask wearing.

Yep. You're right. I watched the OANN tape on him and it's pretty damning. He has contradicted himself on several occasions.

Having said that, throwing out the baby with the bathwater is not the prudent solution now. Personally, I'll continue to heed the CDC and Fauci's advice and comments through the prism that pretty much everything these days has become full-tilt politicized. We need medical advice now, and doctors who are adequately buffered from the political quagmire that is DC to speak the truth. Give me facts, don't feed me political horse sh*t.
I just think you should only take advice from medical professionals who know about you specifically. Any one size fit all is not going to work.

And I am kinda ticked off that we have ruined so many lives over this. Far beyond those we lost. And I am ticked off at all the people who have tried to pull some moral authority over this whole thing trying to dictate to others because of how they feel.

They arent or are never wrong to take measures to protect themselves. But that stops when it impacts someone else.

Fauci admitted to outright lying on masks because he didn't think there was enough supply. He stance had zero to do with health

In most cases it has gone from the extreme/lock down side to a much more reasonable answer.

And if he is playing with half baked data he shouldnt be making country wide decisions. Like if we just shut down NYC, or anywhere over some level. That would have made sense on partial data.

Note on the data I am seeing: increases in daily cases seem to be, as of now, purely an artifact of increased testing.

The transmission rate has been roughly steady for a few weeks, but now the plateau has risen much like a boat on a rising tide.

Logically, if the transmission rate changes, then an observable incline or decline will appear instead of merely a new plateau level. So far, that has not happened.

Just something to keep in mind in the near term. Hopefully we see a decline soon but it could tip in either direction from here. I see an average daily number in around the 25K range for the next two weeks.

Also, caveat that this applies to the national level. Some states have rising rates of transmission and other are have the opposite. On the whole, we are near even.

We're still in the first wave

PolitiFact - Is African-American, Hispanic poverty at all-time low?

The GOP’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which every single Democrat in Congress opposed, includes Opportunity Zones. These areas “offer tax incentives for businesses to invest in economically distressed communities, making them a powerful vehicle for economic growth and job creation,” a White House statement explains. Across America, 8,761 communities have been declared Opportunity Zones, not unlike the Enterprise Zones that the late Congressman Jack Kemp (R., N.Y.) advocated during the Reagan era. “Through these tax incentives, we will jumpstart our American communities, create momentum for economic recovery, and attract investment to diverse areas across our Nation.”

Among his earliest acts, President Trump welcomed to the Oval Office the heads of historically black colleges and universities. He launched a White House office to assist HBCUs. These educators identified year-round Pell Grants as one initiative that sprang from their dialogue with these alleged racists.

Trump made Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s burial site a national historic park. Obama had eight years to sign such a proclamation, but he couldn’t be bothered.

Trump and Jared Kushner, his Orthodox Jewish son-in-law and senior adviser, consider criminal-justice reform a major issue. They are working with Congress to give second chances to nonviolent offenders, which would reunite tens of thousands of black families.

Wasn't aware until the other night trump actually put funding in on Jesse Jackson's election fund for pres. Twice.

The back and forth of R and D is too comical, so listen carefully everyone:

You do not matter, your lives do not matter, no politician cares about you.

Both parties actually are just one in the same, just different colors and disguises that supposedly represent both ends of the spectrum's and everything in between, when in reality, they both only care about keeping and protecting what is theirs, not yours.

The parties are one in the same, until you understand that they both laugh and think you all are dumb, poor, peasants, and serfs and easily used and manipulated, nothing is going to change......LOL, AND......nothing has, same issues and same lip service and same eventual laughable election coming up that will rehash and give the same lip service and promises given decade after decade.

Start working against both of these non solution having corrupt entities and figure out that.... we the people are our only hope.

And, watching the country, that isn't too much of a hope.

California requiring face-mask use for most public activities

California said it will now require the use of face coverings for most public activities, according to the state's COVID-19 website on Thursday. "Over the last four months, we have learned a lot about COVID-19 transmission, most notably that people who are infected but are asymptomatic or presymptomatic play an important part in community spread," the California Department of Public Health said in a statement. "The use of face coverings by everyone can limit the release of infected droplets when talking, coughing, and/or sneezing, as well as reinforce physical distancing." Masks will be required of those who are waiting in line to enter a public space and who are inside any indoor public space, who are visiting the doctor or any healthcare facility, who are taking any kind of public transportation, or who are at work where they interact with the public, the state said.
