Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Maybe in NYC where fear is welcomed . Its no surprise where I stand on the media and politicians pushing this but I was prepared to have to put on a mask to be able to do business , it really has shocked me that we haven’t seen but two people with a mask one was a Pilot cashier , the other was his area manager. He’s the one that told us not to worry about the masks . ( Kentucky I believe ) we will have to wear a mask tomorrow I’m sure ... Michigan .

I've stated it before. Each state is operating like different worlds. I have relatives in DC, ATL, Chicago. I live in Knoxville.

We have lived our lives as normally as possible for 3 months now. Work, no masks, restaurants, extra curricular activites, etc. My relatives in those big cities still live like the plague is on their doorstep.

I was wrong on my earlier post, the US has actually tested 1.6 million the last 3 days, so the 95% negative rate is pretty much the same as it has been all along

Question I have had. How are we finding 400,000 people a day to test that dont have this? Is there legitimately that many people a day thinking they might have this, that dont?

My guess is some of the numbers come from people who constantly get retested due to their jobs, but yes I would venture to say there are people who get tested just to get tested as well

Just curious. 500,000 tests per day shows a great ability, I'm just shocked we can find that many people a day to test, given 95% dont have it.

Think it's jobs for some..I've read of people getting admitted for other things getting tested in hospitals...some are just curious...me I'd much rather have blood drawn than a swab shoved up into my brain

You have to include those who are in the hospital who have to have 2 negatives to be discharged to another regular floor. I'm not sure how they are being counted.

We will probably never get it, but id like for someone to come out and say this is who, how, and why the numbers are being counted this way.

Lots and lots of redundant tests. Here in Georgia they were offering drive up tests and I can only assume it was free. People at work who are paranoid are saying they have to get appointments now.

Never been tested and probably never will get tested. My immune system isn't made out of ####y.

So was Trump right again?

An Italian infectious disease doctor believes the coronavirus has become less dangerous — and could disappear on its own without a vaccine.
Dr. Matteo Bassetti, the head of the infectious diseases clinic at the San Martino hospital, said the virus appears to have become less potent, possibly due to genetic mutations, the Sunday Telegraph reported.
“The clinical impression I have is that the virus is changing in severity,” Bassetti told the outlet.

So you haven't been exposed at all.
Possibly but I'm an unmasked crazy going around our town all the time. According to El it's just a matter of time since I'm in FL. Of course I'm not in a nursing home or a migrant worker in the fields but I'm sure she's right

Or maybe my superior immune system stopped it at the border and didn't waste time doing the paperwork.

Article has a little bit of "winning" for all sides of the debate.

"I think the virus has mutated because our immune system reacts to the virus, and we have a lower viral load now due to the lockdown, mask-wearing, social distancing. We still have to demonstrate why it's different now.

"Yes, probably it could go away completely without a vaccine. We have fewer and fewer people infected and it could end up with the virus dying out."
