Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I tend to agree, the DNC can't be so stupid as to actually run Biden, the risk with anyone more central is that Bernie runs independent.
It looks like Trump will self destruct anyway, but I would feel much better with someone younger wanting to affect change and bring this country back together. Trump has stoked division and hate since Day 1

Not a Dem, but if they are wanting a woman, I thought Tulsi Gabbard was a good candidate. She’s ruffled the DNC feathers though.
Or someone like Condi Rice, although I don't know if she would run as a Democrat. She certainly would be too moderate for much of the right wing crowd that peruses this board

I doubt the democrats will ever again nominate a combat veteran. They’re generally too pragmatic to fit in with a base of voters that’s driven almost entirely on emotion.

You've apparently never watched a Trump rally or you can't be paying attention to those that proudly support Trump. The Trump base is entirely wrapped up in emotion and anti-science types

I don’t care if you believe it or not..... it played a big part in getting him elected the first time......

You are absolutely right. After GW Bush, McCain and Romney, Republican voters decided that they were not going to nominate a wimp. They wanted a fighter who would not turn the other cheek when the media unfairly piled on. As we all saw, this change in strategy resulted in a winning election.

I figured I’d get a “yeah, but...” reply.

And no, I’ve never watched one of his rallies, speeches, or press conferences.

It doesn’t change my point, though. Democrats use veterans as props, they don’t want one in the Oval Office.

Trump is the very definition of a thin skinned wimp

There you go again assuming you know me . It’s amusing to watch you do that . I’ll give you a peek into how soft I really am . I have an 18 inch scar on my right thigh from a knife wound , I have multiple scars on my head from different , we will call them opportunistic objects they was handy and sitting around , I have a scar across my right eyebrow , I’ve had a broken back , I’ve had a cable from the tug boat I was working on snap, come back and knock my hard hat and safety glasses off my head cutting me open , a car pull out in front of me on my bike sending me to the hospital , I have been almost killed more times than once standing outside my truck in Texas once I rode the incoming truck across 4 lanes of traffic to keep from being pinned between it and the back of my truck when it slammed into me . These are just a few things I’ve experienced in my life so far . Now since we are assuming “ Mr. I play golf desk jockey” ... how about you share some of those big paper cut stories you have with us or that one time you teed off and the tee almost come back and touched your arm . 😉
Plus whatever NGV is doing that you dont know of.

I wouldn't disagree with your last comment and I'm not sure why because it would almost assure a win in November. At least a vet with a successful track record as a civilian

I'm not no sure the Dems won't come up with a better, more suitable candidate by convention time. A moderate vet with accomplished and ethical business experience would be perfect

Then there is Mark Cuban if you want to go the route we did with Trump

How about both parties come up with new candidates?

I still believe Fauci is a pandering political rat .

I can respect "listening to the data" and understand deferring to data-driven decisions above all else, but Fauci has used the "latest" data time and time again to make every single assessment and draw every possible conclusion under the sun.

It's essential to leverage data as an important component of any sweeping decisions, but Fauci's message has vacillated far too often for people to take him seriously. Coupled with his lack of concrete suggestions/holistic proposals (regardless of whether or not they'd be taken into account), I see little purpose for this man's omnipresence in society that couldn't be accomplished by a 25-year-old data analyst.

I'm still waiting for him to say something definitive and important. He constantly waffles. I'd be a lot more impressed if he gave us 5 mins of facts and then said "time for kids to go back to school"...in other words do what Dr Rand Paul just did. I have no idea why Fauci is loved by so many. What has he ever done to deserve that?

Le sigh. Such a great tactic. Ignore previously presented information in the hope that your opponent grows tired of making the same argument.

EU 25.4 million tests. Notice that this includes several non EU states in Europe.
Europe: coronavirus testing by country | Statista

America 33.6 million tests.
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

So despite being 100 million larger than us (+27%) they are doing 8 million less (-25%) testing than us.

I also havent seen if they are reporting positives like we are or having the same issues.

Should u just go ahead and add this to my multi quote for the next time I have to present it?

I guess the numbers will change over time. So it will be worth refreshing to work with actual numbers and not assumptions like some.

Cool story bro, take it up with Johns Hopkins and there statistical analysis department.

Looking at positive test rate, almost every state which saw upticks last week are in the southern half of the country. CA, NV, AZ, TX, OK, AR, MS, TN, AL, NC, SC, GA, FL. Presumably Louisiana didn’t because everyone there already got it. The other few states were rocky Mountain: utah, Wyoming, Idaho, MT which had higher than average temps in the preceding weeks including some days near or at 100.

So people go inside to air conditioning. I think it’s pretty clear that being inside a bigger risk than being outside. Closing beaches would then seem counterproductive. People should be encouraged to be outside as much as possible to stop the spread

The left loves them some “ expert scientists “ the problem Is there are no experts with a new virus . Epidemiologists are a dime a dozen .

The increase in cases is mostly attributable to increase in testing. There are some places w a slight increase in positive rate. South Carolina went from like 6 per 100 test were positive to now 9 per 100 tests and they’re one of the worst. But they’re also administering a lot more tests.

And stop packing streets in the hundreds and thousands to protest.
