Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Has occurred to anyone that our mitigation efforts may drag this out until the winter when the conditions for the virus to thrive return?
Supposed to have a vaccine by then?

There's always a justification for what they say we should do.

I've been saying this for 3-4 months. The time to build immunity is in the summer, not during flu season, when hospitals are always full and older folks are at highest risk.

There is not a single person within 500 feet but he has to wear a mask? GTFO

The ump that threw him out standing next to the pitcher , then goes over and talks to others without a mask while all the rest of the unmasked team watch’s them throw the GM that’s traveling with the team out for not having one on and completely by himself . You can’t make something this stupid up in a Steven King movie . This stupid sh!t right here is why I refuse to buy in to this power tripping , controlling crap .

Umps are just so sensitive.

Tune me in, Rabbit Ears.

Umpires Joe West and Hunter Wendelstedt had Washington Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo ejected from Sunday’s game in a move that left many stunned.

The Atlanta Braves were leading the Nationals 7-1 in the top of the seventh inning when Wendelstedt began pointing to the club level at Truist Park. The umpiring crew, led by West, then went to call security. The Braves’ announcers speculated that West might not have liked Rizzo complaining about balls and strikes. They also mentioned that Rizzo was not wearing a mask in the park.

The ejection took place after a called strike to make the count 2-2, lending more credence to the idea that Rizzo was tossed for complaining about a call. The second strike was called despite being well off the plate.

This shows how ridiculous the reaction to Covid is and has been

Not only did it occur, but it was touted as the best option. Back before anything was closed and everyone was worried about flattening the curve, the very articles and charts posted stated that trying to flatten the curve would cause a virus outbreak to drag on for much much longer than if nobody tried to flatten the curve.

Not long after came "15 days to flatten the curve". And you see how everything has gone since then.

And now the states that follow the flat curve graph(FL, GA) are criticized while the ones that showed the worst case scenario (NJ and NY) are deemed heroes. But media can only point to themselves for this:

Have we ever tried dragging a virus out before? What made the people in charge think that this was a good idea?
My more cynical side says, politics. My less cynical side says, initial panic and precautions to a novel virus followed by politics.

Did the area under the curve actually change? I doubt it.
