Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

My daughter and both of my SILs would agree with her.
Well the main problem is you're complaining about this while the rest of us are doing 90% of the work and working another job. Maybe I should get a property tax break for all the **** my wife does 5 days a week while the teacher has a 20 minute Zoom call once a day?

My daughter quit teaching because of the online class.

I just like that people are mad they can't get a vaccine that wasn't supposed to be available in 2020 and if it was it was because Trump forced it through to feed his ego and it would probably kill you.
There you go inciting violence again. In fact, your name does it. You should change your name.

Is that the goal or is the goal to reduce the spread enough to open up the freaking country so we don't have an economic collapse? Look, I'm all for saving grandma but not at the expense of my family and years of recession.

There must be a defined goal in place if this is ever going to end. Complete lack of leadership across the board that there are no defined benchmarks

You can't separate the two. You first keep folks out of the hospital (older folks) then since the medical system is now longer stressed, you can open up the economy. Leadership from gov't has been very lacking in many areas here

Taking a vacation at end of March with the family for spring break. Getting out of NY for a while. To return, NY says you have to test before you come back, then quarantine for 3 days, the test again on day four home. If both tests are negative, you can return to “normal” allowable activities.

I will have been vaccinated for over two months by then. But I won’t be exempt. I will still have to test and quarantine before returning to work.

That's BS. If you still gotta go through all excrement then what purpose did the vaccine serve? You live in a screwed up state.

Damn these people. Everyone of them. This has been the biggest charade of them all.

The blood of their cities, the destruction of their businesses, all of it in those cities is on them. Not only should they be removed from office, this is criminal. Idiots will still elect them though.

Of course you can and should but I notice you also don't give a goal. "No longer stressed" is not a metric it's a feeling. The effectiveness of our economy should not depend on how many grandmas are going to the hospital. Lives are being destroyed, futures ruined and businesses lost forever because you want to tangle them up.

Take care of the sick and get your ass back to work. There, two separate actions we can take to prevent further economic destruction

There's user friendly, and then there's user friendly for a group of 6 year olds who dont want to be there.
Well, some of this stuff isn’t user friendly and has nothing to do with the kid’s age? There have been multiple issues of high school kids in Knox County trying to turn in assignments on virtual only for the software to not upload the work and then the kids receive zeros as their grades. I know both parents and administers for Knox County Schools that have had to deal with this and it is a very frustrating situation.

I think all conservatives predicted this was going to happen if dementia won.

I hope this lesson is learned as we come out of this. Liberals need to learn that gov't can't solve certain things like C19 transmission and global climate:

1) C19 cannot be controlled through gov't lockdowns

2) Global climate cannot be controlled by taxing carbon

Will liberals ever get this?

Knox county growth rate in new cases is under 1% for 4 days in a row now. Even the couple days before that it was only like 1.01 and 1.04 I believe.

We were a hotspot, so maybe we have accelerated to herd status.
Posted this in the pub thread, but Tennessee is somewhere in the 15-20% range for herd immunity right now. Hopefully we’ll see cases go down and things get back to normal as the vaccine effort ramps up.

Also, I’m pretty sure we hit over 1 million daily vaccinations in the US yesterday.

I have to be paid to deal with that type of stuff so I am not arguing the point.

Most city's now do online submissions only, and i have faced plenty of cases of the internet eating my homework.

In my daughters case she started out this fall semester thinking she was going to teach 2nd grade virtually, got all set up for that. Then a couple days before school started she got 3rd-5th all together. That lasted a couple weeks then it was just 3rd then a few weeks latter it was 1st-3rd. All the while the evaluation criteria for her performance never changed from what it would have been had she been in the classroom teaching 1 grade. That's why she quit after the 1st semester.

That 15-20 is an estimate. Total cases could be 4-10 times confirmed cases.

Yea the rest of the world, and doctors here, are ignoring what that drug can do Bc they hate trump. Do you have a brain?
Look at what Dem governors like Cuomo and Lightfoot have done to their cities because of Trump. Did they just wake up and suddenly feel it’s time to reopen? With the current environment I wouldn’t put anything past people full of hate on either side.

Correct, just a very conservative rough estimate. At absolute worst we’re 15%-20%. More likely we’re actually 20-30%.

I'd guess 40 to 60. From my own personal experience, I am a confirmed case. I have at least 6 other friends/family that had it but never took the test.

The number currently hospitalized has gone down a lot in Knoxville too. At it's high, it was close to 200. Now at 153.
