The president of the Philippines has threatened to arrest and forcibly inject Filipinos who refuse to get the Covid-19 jab amid reports of vaccine hesitancy.

Rodrigo Duterte, who is known for his public outbursts and brash rhetoric, told Filipinos to leave the country if they will not cooperate with efforts to end the public health emergency.

He said: 'Don't get me wrong. There is a crisis being faced in this country. There is a national emergency.

'If you don't want to get vaccinated, I'll have you arrested and I'll inject the vaccine in your butt.

'If you will not agree to be vaccinated, leave the Philippines. Go to India if you want or somewhere, to America.'

The new, ultra deadly, even more dangerous “delta” variant is the new fear control mechanism now. First it was killing grandma now it’s killing Jr. All the branch COVIdians are saying this thing is even worse than the plague now.

It’s the same virus, no? Plus the statistics from Hamilton county are derived from a larger sample set making it inherently more accurate.

What happened in the office building is a one off unless you can a good number more stories like it.

This single story, anecdotal, and attention grabbing headlines is idiocy with wings designed to convince the lowest common denominator person of something that just isn’t statistically true. It’s like pointing to a plane crash - or even a couple - as evidence flying is unsafe when it just isn’t statistically true.

A friend of an in-law of mine had an autoimmune issue, got the vaccine (at her doctor’s advice, and ended up with the worst reaction I’ve ever seen to anything. She was one giant rash head to toe, her legs were swollen to twice the normal size, and she felt like her skin was burning. She was in ICU for a while over that one.

Vaccinations do work. Even with the India/Delta variant, the people getting sick and dying now from that haven’t received the vaccine. Vaccinated people that test positive for the Delta one typically have mild symptoms and aren’t hospitalized. I would definitely recommend the mRNA vaccine as I do personally trust it. However, I am firmly supportive of people to decide they do not want the vaccine to make that risk assessment and deal with the potential consequences. Just like I did to receive the vaccine.

You’ve heard that phrase a lot in the last year, and phrases like it. "Authoritative information" is the opposite of "misinformation" — or worse, a "conspiracy theory."

It’s really important. All you’re allowed to see is authoritative information. So it’s worth knowing in this and many other cases, what is it? And where exactly did Google get its so-called "authoritative information." In this case, it came from a group led by a noted man of science called Peter Daszak. If the name sounds familiar, Peter Daszak is the person who almost single-handedly stopped virtually all public speculation about the lab leak early in the pandemic. Daszak did this in one swoop by organizing a letter to The Lancet -- one of the top scientific publications -- stating as fact that there was no possibility the coronavirus could have come from the lab in Wuhan. No chance. Many people believed him and they stopped looking. It was in The Lancet, after all. Almost no one asked why Peter Daszak might be saying this.
