Is corona gone? Haven't heard of anyone catching it, spreading it, or even dying? You can't say it's the vaccine, cause just a couple of weeks ago the unvaccinated were still going to kill everyone. Not really trying to be sarcastic, but I've not heard a single person, or story.

It really is puzzling that almost everyone went radio silent on COVID all at once. I’d like know what is behind this. I don’t think it has a thing to do with Ukraine / Russia.

After the Omicron surge in January (when literally 50% of our tests were positive and we were each seeing 40 kids a day), there was a nosedive, and I haven't had a positive in 6 weeks! I really believe that we finally had enough widespread transmission that we reached herd immunity and it died out. I'll refrain from arguing that we could have done this 18 months ago and saved untold trillions of dollars, hundreds of thousands of lives, and immeasurable emotional havoc and educational loss.

Barring a significant mutation with more aggressive features (highly unlikely), I think (hope) (pray) we are done.

Highly doubt a more aggressive form ( unless it’s released) Highly doubt another peak. It’s done once mask mandates end and the country is open again. It was the driving force behind further spikes.

2 plastic surgeons? Granted they are still doctors, but it seems odd that half the crew has that speciality.

Specialty doesn't really matter in data analysis/research. Plastic surgery is a very competitive field, so they are probably quite intelligent. It's not like the authors are herbalists. Plus, having an ID doc on board from the same institution adds extra validity.

Don’t a lot of the top medical students go into Dermatology? Imagine similar aspects of the job make it attractive, and competitive.

Yes, fortunes have been made fast.
But I was talking more of the older, slower widening that occurs.

All those rich little white and asian kids that were born so far ahead… they just extended their lead.

When the markets crash - more buying opportunities for those with capital to deploy.

This Covid response and all its impacts will simply serve to help those with capital accrue more capital.
