Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

How do you go about checking your doctor's rank in medical school?

You can't check their rank, but you can sure as hell check where they did their residencies. Look for residencies and fellowships and you'll start to see the wheat separate from the chaff.

Each year in America 25 children 18 and under die from bee stings, dog attacks, farm animal accidents, and various other animal encounters. If you own a dog, a farm, or let your kids into the woods or ocean you should be in prison for attempted murder.

Did what get the vaccine? Honestly at this point I don’t think it matters. The real risk was our healthcare system getting overloaded and failing. That risk is long gone. No I don’t think this is the flu, however the risk of a severe outcome is very low.

Every time you put your head under water in certain southern lakes and rivers a brain eating amoeba could swim up your nose and it’s lights out there is nothing they can do for you. This has been known for decades. Let’s all get the hell on with our lives.

I'm sorry, I was unclear.

I wish more people would choose to be vaccinated.

Them I wish we could get on with our lives.

Will be interesting to learn the scientific answer to this question: if you've been vaccinated for COVID are you more likely to die from COVID or the flu?

From the data on the efficacy of the vaccines to date; it's the latter.

I think it's going to depend on the dominant strain of the flu that's in rotation.

A lot of things are possible but Fauci must not think it's very likely since he now says that vaccinated people basically do not have to wear masks. That's a far cry from his "double masking" days
It's almost like a large portion of the population has been vaccinated since his"double masking" days.

Ok. I can respect your stance it’s absolutely reasonable. I’m just fine with letting people manage their own circumstances now. If they choose poorly the healthcare system is there for them if needed 🤷‍♂️

That's totally different than seeing their grades. You quickly moved your goalposts there

What in the world do masks do for vaccinated people? Last year this was about me not peeing on your leg. Now it's what, protecting you from the 1/1,000 chance you encounter someone with covid and the 1/15,000 chance it bypasses your vaccine and then the 1/15,000 chance you give it to a vaccinated person and it bypasses THEIR vaccine and the 1/60 chance they die from it. There's 1 in 13.5 TRILLION chance that chain of events occurs. You have better odds of winning powerball 10 times in a row and getting struck by lighting each time you go to pick up the check. Stay safe my friend.
I know this has always been nearly impossible for red hats to understand so I'll try to explain it as simply as possible to appease you.

Masks don't really protect the person wearing them, but protect the people around a person who's wearing one.

Therefore a vaccinated person who wears a mask does so they don't infect an unvaccinated person who happens to be in their vicinity.

Yes, we now have 49% fully vaccinated. So what? The truth is it was very unlikely that he as a fully vaccinated person would spread it to anyone ever. If you don't believe that then you're still living in an alternate universe

what is the rate of transmission from vaccinated people? no guesses, use the real data.

It's extremely unlikely that a vaccinated person would infect a non vaccinated person. That's the point of getting vaccinated

Half the country has already had at least one shot, 40% are fully vaccinated. Until recently a quarter of the population wasn't eligible for the vaccine and still no one under 12 is. So two thirds of the eligible population has had a shot that offers 80-85% effectiveness. These numbers don't account for the 33M who've already had covid and possess antibodies.

2 weeks ago he said vaccinated people should wear masks if they are in large crowds outside - do you think he's changed his opinion since then?
It's possible. More and more people are getting vaccinated everyday, and thankfully some of the mask recommendations or mandates are becoming more relaxed. I would imagine that science and facts, not the feelings or red hat values, would dictate Fauci's recommendations.

so what happened today at the PGA Championship fits Fauci's scenario of when you should mask outside right?

Kinda like a person legally carrying a firearm protects themselves and those in their vicinity, I guess. Very neighborly of them, tbh.

we also know that transmission among non-adults is low. I believe 61% of adults have had at least one dose and if you add those acquired immunity from infection then adults are likely at least at 75% than

selfish or not, the hold outs can continue to be hold outs with minimal effects.

You seem to be fixated on the PGA championship. I've already told you my thoughts on it like 3 times.

Do you really want to hear it again or can you find another scenario to whine about?

your position doesn't match your other comments - I'm simply giving you a chance to be consistent

I see you punted on the data of infection from vaccinated to unvaccinated but you'll probably roll out another "red hat" or "OAN" to compensate

It seems like you have the data, maybe you can share. Or you can continue to troll and spread anti-vax talking points tonight. Your choice.

Oh I agree. This bastard is highly infectious. I don't think it was widespread in China until late December. If you look at our timeline it fits that it popped in early November and oh **** happens in mid January. We had our first case in early January and we're on full lockdown by March.
You just said the same thing I said about it being widespread in China by late December. Get your act together.

you are the one stating "facts". you made a claim but cannot support it with any data

I'm not an anti-vaxer; I'm fully vaccinated and recommend it. Nowhere have I said someone shouldn't get vaccinated. Maybe it's me not recommending kids be taken away from their parents that's confusing you.

What I am doing is addressing the masking guideline ridiculousness.
