Lavar Ball strikes again

His son was absolutely cooked in the UK loss. Lavar is a joke and his son has a long way to ever have a long career in the league as a starter.

I have to admit that I took great pleasure in watching Fox tear him up.

Well, it's not my world anymore and you young ones see things differently, but as someone who lived in black neighborhoods, and still have friends from those old days, I will tell you how the older generation sees it. Nature says we are all the same animal and we are, but nurture says we are different cultures, and it's OK to be different people. That's not a bad thing. Appreciate living in a multicultural society and you won't have problems. It's OK to be different. We used to point out and laugh about the difference in cultures all the time and it brought us closer. It was a different world though. Everyone didn't have to be the same then. What makes this offensive specifically is that he is saying we are different animals.

Most likely, he's gonna be good. One bad game doesn't indicate as much as the other 33 games do.

My problem is his mouth will end up causing problems for his sons.

He's writing checks they have to cash

Lonzo is gonna be a great NBA player. I wouldn't worry about him. He's gonna prove his daddy at least somewhat right.

Lonzo Ball will be a star in the NBA. There's a reason he's projected to go top 2 in the draft.

Imagine if a parent of a white player said they lost because black kids were too stupid to run the offense correctly. All the cities would burn.
not the same class of insult.

If you're familiar at all with the AAU basketball culture, Lavar Ball's behavior as an aspiring hoop star's parent is more the rule than the exception.
"Bringing up Ballers". Lavar would have been perfect for the show. Watched one episode and haven't looked at any more. Lavar is putting a face (and a big mouth) to the problem of parents trying to create kids who play pro ball instead of letting it occur on it's own. I wish he would have let the kid play ball and see what happened. Now the shadow of his father will follow him in a negative manner unless the kid turns out to be a really good NBA player. Which would probably mean we'll get to hear how Lonzo 'told us so'. Pretty much either way this is now a mess.

Thanks dad.

Not saying he won't, but a rather long list of people drafted #1 or #2 who were complete busts can be made.

Not to mention guys like Andrew Bogut who weren't busts, but ain't exactly what you would call a franchise player

My main issue with Ball is that in some circles what he is doing is seen as acceptable behavior. Justifying his actions only makes my concerns for this world even direr.

This is how the entire rest of the world feels about people defending Donald Trump.

Bogut is a solid #1 pick. You can do a whole lot worse.

If you can just get a legitimiate starter with your lotto pick, you did well. Failure rate is very high in the nba

Bogut is late 1st round good to me. He's a solid player nothing more and very injury prone

Crazy talk. Like i said, GMs are happy to get a solid starter in the lotto and he is a good 7 footer. He played 65+ games 5 out of the 7 seasons for the team who drafted him.

Btw Bogut is one of only 6 all stars from his entire draft.

He's above average and took a while to get there.

A bust would be Darko Milisic.

Except Bogut never made an All-Star team.

NBA draft isn't like the NFL draft. A late 1st round pick in the NBA is basically a guy who will never be anything more than the last guy on the bench.

A player with Bogut's career might not be worth the 1st overall pick but he's definitely worth a top 5-10 pick.

Lets see.

Marc Gasol 48th
Rondo 21st
Tony Parker 28th
Ginobili 57th
Kobe 13th
Steve Nash 15th
Shawn Kemp 17th
Rodman 27th
Karl Malone 13th
Isiah Thomas was the last player taken in the 2011 draft.

Theres plenty more examples.
