Lawn Care (Bermuda) Advice Needed

I have a decent patch of Bermuda that began to spread last summer/fall. However, this spring, my fescue looks like it is coming in strong right through it. Is there a product I can put down that will keep the Bermuda from greening up and thriving, while leaving the fescue alone? I have my house on the market and don't feel like digging or killing a huge ugly section of the front lawn. TIA.

Fusilade will do the trick if you can find it. Most golf courses use it to control bermuda and it works great! It's a little pricey though.

It's available on Amazon, but a little unclear if it will affect the fescue.

It's labeled to use for the control of Bermuda grass.

I've sprayed hundreds of gallons of it.

Just follow the label recommendations

Great, thanks!

Additional note: is there something relatively inexpensive that I can easily use to kill clover patches?

2-4,D

Mix at about 4-6 ounces per gallon of water. Spray till wet. Clover should burn up with in a day or two.

We are greening up down south. Some already getting spring cuts.

I put down weed-n-feed March 12th. I've mowed the front yard twice now but the back is just now starting to catch up. The front yard is getting more light than the back right now. :)

Great, thanks!

AKA Ortho Weed-B-Gon. You can get it in concentrate, in hand held gallon jug sprayer, or in-line hose sprayer.

Ortho Weed-B-Gon works great for northern grasses (fescues, etc.). I work for Scott's/ Miracle Grow and I sell a lot of this in FL to people that take back North.

Thanks. Weed B Gon went down yesterday.

You are welcome KD.

A lot of these guys are in to their "brands"
Scott- Ortho- etc.

I buy mine from co-op or the local farm store. No need to pay for the name and a "watered" down product. (No knock at you guys-ok?)

Co-op sells farm strength. You buy the same chemical "billy the farmer" buys to put on his cotton. A 1 quart bottle will cost you less than 10 bucks, and last quite a while spot treating your lawn.

Keep us updated KD....

I have a friend in the Ag industry. He hooks me up with gramoxone. That stuff smokes everything else.

Will do. If we are still here when the Bermuda greens, I'll get some Ornamec on Amazon.

Scott's is Ortho which is also Miracle Gro, Roundup, and Osmocote.

I'm not necessarily pushing a specific brand so much as translating specific chemical names into products that average people look for on typical store shelves. Most people don't typically go to the Co-op for lawn care(you're an exception obviously) so giving out a random chemical name often times leaves them shaking their heads.

I have used Ornamec in the past. It definitely works. Make sure you follow the provided directions exactly and you will be pleased with the results.
