The lawyer advertising is getting very aggressive down here. I have always been a little put off by the injury lawyers doing it the way they do. I think it really hurts our already-badly tarnished image. But lately I see things that really make me wince.

The Bar regulates it some, but its quite weak, and the plaintiff's bar pushes the envelope all the time, it seems. And I say all this with my firm taking the occasional plaintiff's case (if we know the plaintiff, its righteous, etc).

How annoying is it where you are (lawyer or not)?

It's awful where I live. I get that everybody is just trying to make a buck, but like you said, the personal injury attorneys have ruined it completely.

Righteous?!?! lulz.

But on the point, I like the latest A.H. Bell ads here in Knoxville which begin, "The law is not always black and white......."

And the two dudes who get out of the helicopter. I know that any time I need an attorney, I think, "If only Magnum and T.C. were here right now!".

the local law office commercials are only marginally more entertaining than used car lot ads and bail bonding commercials.

Ogle, Elrod, and Baril's ads are particularly egregious.

Its a staple of daytime tv here, Mark E Salamone and John Haymond. That and the class action mesothelioma ads.

They used to irritate me. All of them. I quit watching TV years ago, so they no longer affect me.

Tarnish? All attorney's are ambulance chasers to one degree or another.

"turn your wreck into a check" makes me want to put a few .357 sized holes in my tv.

Never watch tv so they dont bother me. I've never understood why there is so much hate over lawyers advertising. At the end of the day they are a business and businesses need to advertise.
