I won’t be surprised if this is swept under the rug and then many will say he wasn’t involved. I agree false accusations occur but not an incident such as this. Time will tell but I have zero tolerance for animal cruelty and abuse in general.

The person making the complaint returned to find her kitten injured and was told by someone else how the kitten was injured. So, at best the story is second hand....third hand by the time it was reported in the news. Seems like the guy ought to at least have the opportunity to deny the charges before he is run out of town.

If the charges turn out to be true, then I have to agree with most people here that he needs to move on as soon as possible and is likely to be treated like a pariah on campus.

Forget football, what kind of person does this? There has to be accountability at some point. And it seems like there are guys on this team who just flat out do not understand the concept of accountability.

Failing a class, getting in a fight, being a drunk idiot I can understand. I’m not happy about it, but I can understand it. But the decisions of some of the players over the last few months are almost beyond comprehension. The bar is already so low for these guys but somehow it’s never low enough at UT.

True. Maybe the cat will talk, but I doubt it. Maybe the cat had catnip and he mistook it for his weed.

Jeez. You're quite the case. Nothing exists until it's proven. The cat was almost killed...... but I assume it never happened if there's never a charge, eh?

She has already made over three grand by tying it to UT football.

That's enough reason to wait and see if more facts come out before rushing to judgement. People have made stuff up for way worse reasons than that.

I'm not even sure how to react to this. I'll take anyone who abuses an animal to task, back alley style. But this article doesn't scream "all the facts" to me. We'll see how it works out.

But...

This is a prime example of how the game and world are changing. You can't get away with anything anymore. It hasn't hit the programs on top, quite yet. But it will, in due time.

We all live under a microscope now.

Yeah that “innocent until proven guilty” thing is annoying. I’m saying there’s another side and where’s the fire? The rest of your goofy post didn’t deserve a response. Ever been accused of something you didn’t do...ah look who I’m asking.

Does the go fund me actually state something like "my cat was abused by a Vol" or do people just know who the roommate's boyfriend is? I believe in innocent until proven guilty but if true this is alot worse than beating up a drug dealer.

I've never used a gofund me account. Can they do anything with that money they want, or would it go directly to the Vet in this case?

Just seems fishy IMO
