Let's focus on the key question posed by this opinion piece: who are you going to get that is better?

Right now, there is a vocal crowd yammering away on the idea that ANYONE!!!!! would be WAY BETTER than Holly.

Fortunately, no one in position of authority endorses that viewpoint.

The LVs could do a lot worse than Holly. I am still banking on them coming out of this bad spell and putting together a final four run.

The time to assess the coaching future of the LVs will be after this season not during these pre-conference games.

I am leaving her completely alone after watching the early games this season. They waited to late to make the change in my opinion. Of course she has a good record she has had a stable of great players that few coaches ever experience but has done less with more. This year she is doing much less with a lot more. Recruiting is suffering and soon the program will hit mediocrity. It won't matter what happens then.

It seems like he is making a mockery of her. He knows what is being displayed on the court is not any good signs of coaching. There are some coaches that do way more with less talent and whose teams will play circles around this one. I believe he wants her to stay so things will continue to decline. If this team was receiving great coaching and development they would be turning heads in a good way.

Honestly, the only coach better than Holly is Genno!!! Really, I can understand someone supporting Holly but please, she is not one of the top 10 women's basketball coaches. Smith needs to get off the drugs. He is delusional if he really believes what he is writing.

OK maybe I missed his intent..... because based on this quote, he should be arrested for idiocy!!!! I like Holly, like everyone else, but we need a coach who can develop our skills, game, and push the needle forward for our program

What a socialist rag. Chattanooga has a huge liberal mayor and the whole downtown is on the liberal society mentality.

IPlead, you have, in a nutshell, described this season so far. "Less with more". With any luck, TN could be 2-6. Think about it.

Interesting, I did not know Chattanooga was such a hot bed of "socialism." Although the Chattanooga choo-choo did seem like an endorsement of public transit.

The only bad spell they have is HW.
As far as a final four run...Dream on! Ain't happening as long as HW is the head coach.

I have said this before in another post. The Penn State game we had to use a 10-2 run at the end of the game to beat them by 8. And that was without their best player who got hurt early in the game. The Syracuse game we won by 2 and that is because we outscored them like 46-18 in the paint because they played man defense. Had they played zone it might have been ugly. The Chattanooga game we built a huge lead only to decide to take the second half off and only won by two. And the Albany game came down to us hitting free throws at the end. Now I know a win is a win because that is what a lot of people will argue. But come on, having to struggle to beat far less talented teams or having to ice games at the free throw line you should be winning by 20 is not good. We could easily be 2-6 at this point with 4 of those losses to unranked teams.

If they are going to support Holly she at least needs to be told to dress the part. Worst dressed coach in the sport. If the coach has no respect for her position, the sport or herself how can she lead players.

They are not a good basketball team. They should be.
