Leave My Fishing Alone

I can tell by his form this is something he has rarely if ever done before. This screams photo op to me. Do you really think this guy cares in the least bit for fly fishing?

His form is quite awful. But as I learned when I first started, it's still very fun even when the casting part is frustrating. If he did it for publicity then they did a horrible job of getting the story out there, I've only come across the photo and article because I looked for it.

Not all photo ops are done for mass consumption across the country. Many more are done in way that they are geared toward the local target audience. All presidents over the last 30 to 40 years have done this.

What's he think he's got, a howitzer?

He is another big sports fan.

I don't knock Kerry for his shooting stance but the rest are sad

So horribly sad I'm considering a petition for him to turn in his man card. Seriously, my 3 year old daughter makes that same face when catching a football.

In keeping with the extracurriculars theme:

(W. Bush)

I'm not a big W fan but not because of liberal rhetoric.

For one thing W reportedly wanted to ratify the UN LOST treaty which is what this is all about, Obama is attempting to enforce parts of that policy without bothering to have the treaty ratified just the same as he is instructing the EPA to enforce provisions of Koyoto protocal even though the USSA has signed no binding international agreement.

Kerry was just using the pheasant hunt to fool people into believeing he was pro gun even though he is anything but.

OTOH one of W's first acts when he was elected was to grant a presidential pardon to a resident of this county for a felony conviction back in 1947 for bootlegging moonshine so that the guy could get a carry permit.

Well that shooting stance certainly is unique, I've never seen anything like it. :birgits_giggle:

I have a two year old granddaughter who at least keeps her eyes open when you toss her a ball.

I probably never shoot 2 birds from the same exact stance all day. Plus the gun is not shouldered so I doubt he's pulling the trigger at that instant. I've been a bird hunter for a long time and give him a pass on that one (although I don't believe Kerry's anymore a hunter than Obama's a fly fisherman)

it looks like he could have been in the middle of moving his stock into his shoulder, imo.

I've done a lot of bird hunting, owned some great dogs and still own one of the finest double barrels ever made.

I've shot from a lot of stances also but usually a good stance, aka platform, brings better results.

The only reason I would ever shoot from a squating stance would be to shoot under a limb or brush, certainly never in the middle of a field as kerry appears to be doing.

As KB5252 so aptly points out, John probably squats to everything, including takin a pee.

The gullibility of people who pass along these dumb rumors is staggering.

Of what rumor do you speak??

This one??

Fishermen, anglers, charter and party boat captains, and marine business owners from coast-to-coast gathered here to demand changes in fisheries law that they say is putting them out of work.

The closures could be as long as 10 years.

You may some sort of gullibility disorder yourself.

Well i fish on local lakes in the Nashville area. Last year i saw Coast Guard boats(?)WTF???, more TWRA idiots than ever before and i got stopped and checked around 3 or 4 times. That's more than any other year i've fished in 15 years of being on these local lakes. Even saw a Homeland security boat. So yeah there is something to this garbage. Socialism/Communism at its best.

Never saw one before. Obama gets in office and magically there is more agents on the water than you can shake a stick at, so call it what you want . I call it what it is... harassment. Hire a bunch of new idiots then go out and see if you can't make some money off petty violations. Sounds great. Can't wait to get out there and let them harass me again.

I've never seen an HS boat but I've seen TWRA on the lakes all my life. Not really something to worry about unless you forgot your paddle or extinguisher

Well they're making their presence known around here. I really don't know what to make of it. I do know i've seen more of them recently though. Yeah the Homeland Security boat was out there the same day i saw a Coast guard boat. Haven't ever saw either of those on these waters.
