Legitimate chance to win by 14?

I personally hope we win a close awesome game. I want it to live up to the hype with us on the winning side. We don’t need a UGA blowout we just need a W at this point. I want ours to be the premier game of the regular season and for the OSU Michigan game to suck in comparison.

UGA has been stockpiling 5 stars for years. This is really the first time they’ve had to get up for a game this year. Our boys have expended a ton of effort and emotion and produced some amazing results. it’s hard to imagine that doesn’t put some miles on the odometer. Im blown away by the results, but I can’t help but believe that eventually the realty of the rosters will show. I’ve been wrong about this team more than I’ve been right, so here is hoping I’m wrong again.

It could happen in tight games where final score is not representative of how close game was. For example if we are leading GA by 7 and they have the ball with less than a minute to go. They throw in desperation on third down and we pick it off for a 6. That would give us 14 point lead to end the game but won't be a typical 14 point beatdown.

We have momentum! 55-27 Tennessee!!!

I believe this game will be decided by how Bennett plays.
Additionally how UTs Oline plays.
A lot of these bombs Hook throws are the Oline allowing Hook to stand in the pocket and let the WR blow open.
Not sure he'll have a lot of time Saturday

When the pressure of these games seems overwhelming, and I feel like I can take no more, I remember the words of a prayer on my uncle's wall: "And yea, though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I shall fear no evil, for I am the Meanest Son-of-a-Bitch in the Valley."

My hope is that he try’s a little to hard out of the gate to keep up with Hooker and makes mistakes. He could have a several ints that were dropped against FL. But I think he plays well at home this week.

Let this sink in for a minute. 2019 LSU considered the best team in college football history vs 2022 Tennessee Vols. Our defense is actually a little better and currently having played 5 ranked teams we are statistically better offensively also. WOW!UT vs LSU 2019.jpg
A collective team beats individuals any day of the week. We have the best QB in the nation and the best receiving group. Our O-line is the best it's been in years. The front 7 on Defense is playing really well which will help the back end. This team is amazingly coached and I cannot praise them enough! Honestly the only spot we need to really clean up is FG and some punts get shanked. Having said all of that, 42-24 Vols take down the dawgs this week. We are currently a better FB team and have shown it all year. GA has 1 quality win and struggled a bunch. If they have any struggles against us and I think they will, that's when we pull away.

Maybe more? Yes?
Of course.

Folks know a lot less than they think about UGA. Their only truly impressive win was week 1 against a team with a brand new coach and transfer QB that has since beaten up on a pretty weak schedule themselves.

UGA by every measure or power ranking I've seen has played 5 of the 6 bottom teams in the SEC. They haven't played anyone in the upper half of the SEC. The only bad SEC team they haven't played is Texas A&M. So as odd as it may seem... UGA hasn't been challenged enough by their competition to show how truly good they are. There are no LSU's in their previous games much less a Bama. I'm not sure that UK wouldn't compete with Oregon fairly well.

Things we KNOW about UGA:
  1. very talented.
  2. very disciplined
  3. lost a ton of talent on both sides of the ball and especially D from last year's team.
  4. plays depth on D which usually means they can plug and play after losing guys
  5. does not have elite talent at WR
  6. does have elite talent on the OL and TE
  7. has an "untalented" QB who gets it done anyway
  8. has RB by committee but not up to past UGA standards
  9. 3 deep at CB includes two Sophs and 4 Fr
  10. also starts a Fr at Safety.
  11. two FR in the DL two deep

So we do not actually KNOW how good they are. We do know they're very good... but Bama good? We don't know. There are reasons to be concerned but also some opportunities for UT to exploit too.

I look at it differently. Our boys have expended effort and emotion in the first half of the season. We have had a great schedule this year to regroup after every game. Momentum has picked up and the most important aspects of this run has been short memory, the business like approach, playing with house money, Leadership, adjustments, and Coaching. You get a team that does this well and believes but is not overconfident then the sky is limit. This is how teams, businesses, and organizations exceed their capabilities.

Yes. It's absolutely possible. We should've beaten Florida and Bama by that much. There were small breakdowns on drives that allowed them to stay in it or get back in it. If Tennessee eliminates that, we can beat Georgia by 14. Georgia is the best team Tennessee will face all year. There's no doubting that. Tennessee can still win big, though.

Interesting wasn't LSU #2 when they played their division rival Alabama in 2019 so the comparison takes another turn for the good.

Why?

IMHO, we do not know enough about UGA to accurately predict what will happen. UGA may have the magic formula that slows UT's O down. If so, they'll wear UT's D down and beat the Vols comfortably. If they haven't then UT is going to score points. If UT can pair that to a D that takes away the run then you make them a lot more predictable and manageable. Their skill players look more similar to UK than Bama except for Bowers.

Either team could win by multiple scores. It could also be a close game. IMO, the least likely outcome is a low scoring close game... but that's also possible.

Agree, but only thing I keep coming back to is you get into trouble if you (UGA) think you can turn high execution "on and off" like a light switch. They've clearly not played their best game this year, but does that mean they all of the sudden play it against UT? Maybe...if they do, they probably win. But, if they continue w/ inconsistencies throughout the game, I believe it will be there at the end for us to win.
